I like the fact that my son and I can play a game that takes 2 hours....with a minimum investment of models. Mordheim I spent 40$ for 2 boxes of models from war games factory, space hulk is self contained, blood bowl is self contained, Necromunda is self contained, as is dread fleet. It's a win-win for us....all we need is models for BFG to round it all out....that will run about $200.

I am going to miss them...

Even though others have made similar points, the small numbers of models in the skirmish sized games is probably why they're not profitable. Mordheim especially, as if you're feeling really frugal you could just use the fantasy models that you already own as opposed to buying a specific gang and other models to supplement it as it grows.

I've been told that they are stopping production of the models - but moulds and all the technical stuff needed to restart casting will be kept.  Besides, the rules are still online, and they have been around for a good decade or so (at the very least).  I was gutted to find models that I had planned to get " at some point" are now unavailable, but surely that's my fault for not getting off my behind for over a decade and getting hold of them?

Necromanda was always in 28mm or whatever the current scale is

Someone above made a good point,40k is too big a scale for flyers, should be left to epic scale

Well, there is a rumor that a 28mm Inquisitor box would be released later this year.

Around a year ago, we formed a little group to play frequently play Mordheim. And I'm really enjoying it!

I say just keep playing them. Most can be played using existing figs. For those that don't there are manufacturers that make decent alternatives.

Flyers can exist in 40K, just use rules like the ones in Flames of War or Dropzone Commander. Basically they come in, do a strafing/bombing run, then leave. Roll again next turn to see if they are available again. AA guns within range of their run get to try and shoot them down.

I bought Gorkamorka many years ago, you ended up with two warbands which could be combined into a 40K army.

And I loved Mordheim, although only ever played a few games; I'll be leaning on my local club to start a Mordheim campaign - that wyrdstone needs to be found!

Me and my mate played Battlefleet Gothic and Warmaster, seems a shame to remove them entirely.
