I haven't played with them this edition, so take this with a massive grain of salt.
I think they could be great, but they are harder to use than they seem. Lining up the bombing run, making a bombing run and avoiding being charged is trickier than you think. They have a US of 4, which (I believe) doesn't break ranks despite the Close Order status. Skirmish would actually help them set up a bombing run, so this is a bit of a shame. I wouldn't bank on getting too many off in a game, and then they have a 1/6 chance of a bad result, and a 1/6 chance of a very meh result.
With that being said, they are slightly better in combat. They still have wSiftstride, so are pretty good at running down fleeing troops. They probably synergise well with the clattergun, because they can march over a unit bomb them, and then shoot in the same turn.
For me though, 3 Copters = 180 points and 2 bombers = 190 points. I think 3 copters will do more than 2 bombers in most games.
