Professor Tolkein wrong! The heretic! Get the kindling, the rope, the matches, don't forget the marshmallows. Who are you going to believe, the author of the greatest work of fantasy fiction ever (and Oxford professor of ancient English and Germanic languages), or a bunch of blokes in Nottingham whose highest level of intellectual acheivment is thinking of new reasons for adittional price increases? :diablo:
Well, in this case, the guys from Nottingham, since it is their game design and their game universe. If I was playing LotR I'd call them Dwarves, but I'm not.
But this is a conversation for another thread so I'll drop it here.
Back on topic, I notice that many of us give our dwarfs "ethnic" first names (Snorri, etc.) but English last names (Grudgeholder, Alebreather, etc.). Why do you think that is?
I think it was because I couldn't find a word for Bright looking in the Lexcon article so I be worse to have some half in Dawi and rest in English. I always assume this is what is the case for everyone else, much like people using non-german discription in army lists or names. it assumed that it the "real" world that these are their correct words in their correct languages. Is Bugman a dawi word? Is it german? likely it niether so what can we say?
