Hey Gang,

Just got back from Ard boyz and unfortunately only 4 armies showed up for battle 🙁. Since my Brother and I traveled together I was feeling good since he is expecting a newborn soon so he is not going to make it to the second round no matter how he finished. He plays Empire, one player plays Daemons and the other guy plays Warriors of Chaos.

My Army list was this:

Runesmith MRoBalance w/shield RoStone RoFire
Master Engineer RoStone

Game 1:
I get to play the best player first who has a Daemon Army and is a really great and experienced player. He has 3 units of 30 Bloodletters, 2 Units of 10 Flesh Hounds, 1 unit of 6 Khorne Berserker Juggernaut guys, and a magic Chicken. He gets everything through reserves and I have the cheaper cannon and GT in reserves. He goes first.

Turn 1: His chicken flies out and casts either dwellers or pit of shades on my longbeards i miss the dispel by one or two and he hits 18 longbeards, i luckily pass 6 and two ranks or now dead. He moves everything forward.

I blow up one organ gun on my turn. bring in the GT and Cannon from reserves. hold the lines, other GT kills a few guys but not many. Organ gun kills 2 Flesh hounds. Cannon hits a bloodletter and the chicken mage. however miss on the blood letter and his chicken mage makes his ward save 🙁. I charge the Khorne Berserkers with GW warriors, I lose a lot of guys and cause only three wounds.

Turn 2: he advances forward, only gets 12 of line of sight, so he can't charge my flank with his flesh hounds. Chicken mage doesn't do much. We get into two combats and I kill some blood letters with the one unit of longbeards and he loses some guys to demonic instability. He heals his Khorne Berserkers.

Cannon can't see the chicken guy as he gets behind a building so blocked line of sight. I kill some more flesh hounds and have a unit of bloodletters. miners don't show up yet. Lordpedo gets into combat along with the other unit of longbeards.
Blow up my other organ gun. My GW guys are dead and I block the Khorne Berserkers with the Gyrocopter and steam one of them.

Turn 3: Flanks my longbeards and runs them down. Charges my cannon on the flank kills it. Lordpedo and other longbeards do fine in combat but don't win so stay. Khorne berserkers only cause one wound to the gyrocopter and I cause one, but lose combat and flees and get ran down.

We find out we are running out of time and So end the game after my turn. I try to kill the chicken guy with the grudgethrowers for victory points as I am way behind now. Get one to hit but he passes his ward save. I almost lose my longbeards with the battle standard bearer. But pass the reroll thanks to the generals leadership.

Game Ends, he gets a major victory.

Mistakes I made, well i got jipped on the dice, and wished I could of got another turn of shooting in before he got to me but he marched right away and and we got into combat early. The sad news is we didn't get many turns in, but the way things were going I would of got massacred. I score 3 points he scores 17 no surprise, but now I am in 4th and top 3 get prizes. As my brother wins a minor victory over the Warrior of Chaos player.

More to come later. Can I make a come back. I get to play Warriors of Chaos next, an army I have never played before. Will my brother's new baby really prevent him from going to round 2.
