This is my first battle report in a long time, and it's my first using Battle Chronicler. This seems like a really good program, but I'm a bit slow and have had a few little fights with it. I think I have it under control now though, so hopefully I will produce better reports in the future.

I played against High Elves and we played Battlelines. I don't have a copy of the High Elf list, but I used my 1500 point list that I recently posted in the army lists section, HERE

The High Elf list was something like:
Level 4 High
Level 2 Metal
24 Lothern Seaguard
10 Archers
12 White Lions
5 Dragon Princes
2 x RBT
Giant Eagle

I don't know exact magic items etc, but that was the model count.

Dwarfs Deploy first and then also go first.

I feel I made a mistake here. I was going to try and deploy the Quarrellers in the forest on the Hammerers flank so that I could Swift reform and move backwards out of it, which would have kept them in the Grungni bubble, but when it came down to it, it wasn't going to work the way I wanted it to. So I moved them and stuffed it all up.
I think I should have placed both of the combat units on the other side of the rocks and hugged the left corner more, but coulda, woulda, shoulda, it all means nothing now. I'll try and do better next time.

Turn 1

Dwarfs:

Not a lot happened really. My cannon got a good shot off on one of his bolt throwers and killed it, my Grudge Thrower missed his Seaguard but the Quarrellers did a few wounds to them.

High Elves:

My opponent advances some of his stuff, but then gets a staggering 12 dice in the Winds of Magic which of course saw a lot of his spells going off. Fortunately most of them had little game effect other than to help kill off 9 Quarrellers between magic and shooting. The Quarreller pass their panic check and all is fine.

Turn 2

Dwarfs:

Watching the Giant Eagle flying up my flank I figure it's trying to go around behind me to tie up my Grudge Thrower, so I jump my Runesmith out of the Quarrellers and try to place her so that she can seeing as much of the space that the Eagle will want to land in as possible. I figure she is toughness 4, has a 2+ armour save and a flaming weapon so she should be able to take on the Giant Eagle by herself. But then I was worried that the Eagle might charge the flank of the Quarrellers so I moved them so it was in their front arc. Stupid, I know. I should have ignored it. The Cannon shoots at the other bolt thrower, gets the hit, wounds, but then rolls a 1 for the multiple wounds leaving it there for the rest of the game. The Grudge thrower fires at the knights, but yet again it misses. That's with re-rolls on the Scatter die.

High Elves:

The knights charged the cannon, killing it, and then reform to face my flank. The Giant eagle moves in careful to stay out of any ones LoS. There was not magic cast this turn with a WoM roll of 4, but the Quarrellers suffered another 8 wounds from missile fire.

Turn 3

Dwarfs:

I did it again, I swift reformed the Quarrellers to face the Eagle. The Runesmith also tried to position to keep the Eagles movement restricted. The Grudge Thrower fires at the knights again, and you guessed it! It missed! I should have reformed the Warrior block to face the gap between the rocks and the Grudge Thrower, but I forgot to do it and moved on to shooting (as in shooting my self in the foot, again. I don't know why but it never seems to get old, I just keep doing it).

High Elves:

Not a lot out of this turn. The Quarrellers died some more and the RBT had a shot at the Runesmith but missed and the Grudge Thrower lost a wound to either Magic or shooting, I can't remember which.

Turn 4

Dwarfs:

My Warriors charge the White Lions and the Hammerers swift reform and move to block the Knights from getting to my Grudge Thrower. My Runesmith dives for cover behind the rocks after a spear wizzed past her ear only a few moments earlier. The Grudge Thrower finally gets a hit (on the re-roll I might add) on the Seaguard and flattens a heap of them, but they don't panic. I even got a hit on the Level 4 which failed her 'Look out Sir!'. The White Lions take a rank of the Warriors to win combat by one, but the warriors are Steadfast and hold.

High Elves:

The Thane uses his Master Rune of Challenge on the Knights forcing them to charge the Hammerers this turn, and then the Eagle also charges them in the rear to try and get the extra combat res. I realised afterwards that it should have gone into the side, not the rear, but it didn't make any difference in the end as the Hammerers, whilst taking some casualties, slay both the Eagle and all of the knight in combat, and then reform to face the front line. The White lions won combat against the Warriors again by 1, but again the warriors hold.

Turn 5

Dwarfs:

The Hammerer move forwards eager to get into the fray after their last victorious fight, but the warriors suffer too many losses in combat and break leaving the Hammerers flank open to an unexpected charge from the White Lions. The Grudge Thrower fired at the Bolt Thrower trying desperately to get that last wound but missed again.

High Elves:

The Archers find them selves blocked by the combat as so move to try and get line of sight on the Grudge Thrower for next turn. The White Lions kill 3 times as many Dwarfs as they suffered losses but the Hammerers are Stubborn and Hold and then reform to face their foe. The Grudge Thrower lost another wound to shooting (or was it magic?).

Turn 6

Dwarfs:

The Grudge thrower tried for one last ditch effort to get points out of the Bolt Thrower but misses again for a staggering 11 missed out of 12 rolls. The Hammerers take a couple more wounds but then clean up what was left of the White Lions and cheer!

High Elves:

The archers move and take some pot shots at the Hammerers doing a couple of wounds, but it wasn't going to make a huge difference. The Bolt Thrower makes a final effort and kills my Grudge Thrower.

So in the end the High Elves earned 835 VP to the Dwarfs 577 VP for a fairly decisive win. Congratulation to my opponent. He played a great game and brought a good list and in the end the better General won the day.

In reality, the game was over at the end of turn 2. With my cannon dead my opponent only needed to back up out of my reach and keep pummelling my Quarrellers with magic and shooting for an easy win, but in the spirit of 'coming to play a game' he kept pushing forward to truly earn his victory. Not only best general, but best sports too.

I made too many mistakes this game for me to be bother to count, but one of the biggest was to completely forget about the Master Rune of Grungni. All those magic missiles and shooting attacks and I didn't take a single 5+ ward save /facepalm/ It just confirms it. I am a complete and utter idiot.
