The best sculpts ever to come out of GW in my opinion, and you’ve done a grand job on them!

I agree. Easily at the top three on my list. Right up there with badruk ´eadsplitta and the Orc Warriors, Brian Nelsons plastics.

Very nciely painted here too! Makes me wanna get a unit or two again....

Well they look really superb, but BASES Roger?! Where are those lovely leaf-themed ones you promised us?

Bases were a problem before, now I don't even know which base I want to use, is it 20 mm or 25 mm ?

Is anybody here planning to rebase their models for TOW?

I would go for 20mm, you can always use unit trays with 5mm separator strips to make them fit.

I’m concerned that if The Old World doesn’t sell well enough GW will be half hearted on support, and the game may drop out after a couple of years.

All the other game systems (including every other version of Warhammer Fantasy) use 20mm so you will be able to use your army for them.

Unless of course you have TWO armies, one on 20mm and one on 25mm! (Perfect excuse to buy more Dwarfs!)

Yep, as Thunderford said... movement tray spacers are the way forward.. I'm certainly not rebasing everything for TOW, if I even play it that is!

Longbeards finally finished and based! I used MK recipe for the bases and it will be my way to go from now on. Just need to add a few shrubs and leaves later.

Let me know what you think.

Cannon and crew finished. Not super happy about the barrel but overall I like it and I really enjoyed painting it.

Wow Roger, those look great! I love those metal longbeard models, but they're going for nuts money on the likes of ebay (around £12-£15 per man) so I'm sticking with my warrior models for now...
You'll have to post a pic of your entire army sometime- it must look cracking

Thank you Thorpyuk, most of them are from my childhood collection - I actually have 19 more hidden somewhere I think  :P

The army is not that big now, but it's growing!

I need more war machines :lazy:

It's nostalgia that's fuelling me too... think I first collected Dwarfs around 5th edition, so what's that, early-mid 90's? I can remember owning some of those plastic warriors you could buy in a set of 10 for £5 but they were all in the same pose? And a few thunderers and the old trumpet-style Flame cannon (horrible model). Only returned around 18 months ago, collecting Dwarfs & Empire

Same here, but I think I started a bit later, with the 6th edition launch then went back to some fifth edition models. After that around 20 years of nothing, I was checking sometimes some stores around home but went back to the hobby only about three years ago - I think that being at home probably helped with getting back. I have some high elves as an extra army but I never even tried to start painting them. I think I started them because I wanted some mobility when playing. I have really fond memories of my matches with friends and my brother!!
