Got it, don't know why but I had the impression you were painting them before gluing on the base, I'll give it a try

Finished my first 24 quarrelers, and bases done. I think I'll add rocks and leaves later on.

They look great Roger! Do you paint the part of the base that shows an earth colour?

Thank you! I'm very happy how they turned out, less happy with the bases but I don't really have any experience with them, if one day I want to change them, I can always do that.
Yes the brown was painted (partly) following Mousekiller's recipe so dark brown (I used Vallejo chocolate brown) then skrag brown and balor brown.
I'll probably add some stones and tufts here and there.

The blue is not as bright as it appears...
Lol...it's so bright! I love it!
Yeah, those bases look pretty OK just as they are. I just based some of my guys with the method I've been working on with Lizardmen and Elves, and I'm dropping some pics in my paint log. See what you think!

Really like the old dwarfs sculpts. Nice paintjob!

I just saw your post and I actually like your bases much more than mine.
I think I'll ended up redoing them one day or the other

What's your method on the beards? They look so nice and even. I tried a simple base-wash-highlight on my Greybeards, and it looks pretty clunky.

I do the same, base, wash and highlights, maybe several layers. I dilute the color though, maybe that's how you can avoid it.

The best sculpts ever to come out of GW in my opinion, and you’ve done a grand job on them!

They look fabulous! And I'd tend to agree with you Thunderforge.. they cost a fortune even now on ebay. Fantastic models though
