Hope this is allowed here, it's still Dwarfs after all. I'm thinking of choosing the Northern Alliance as my next KoW army. However, one thing sticks out to me: Dwarf Clansmen are only available from Mantic as a three-pack for Vanguard at 19.99 a pop, and none with the weapon options I would like to use - the hammers. Which models (from any manufacturer) would you use to represent them?

I was thinking of using GW Hammerers, but I'm open to other ideas. Only stipulations are that the models have to have hammers of some sort.

Do you have any preferences regarding material (metal, plastic, resin), sizes (25mm, 28mm, 32mm), scale (historic for more "normal" looking, or heroic for bigger hand and heads like GW and Mantic), armor (heavy, light), one-handed or two-handed hammers?

I would prefer plastic or metal, not very fond of resin. As for size, 28mm. I guess heroic scale? I'd have to see what the historic ones look like to make a choice between them. And I suppose I would like them to have heavy armor and two-handed hammers.

Thank you, by the way.

I shall look around and see what I can find. Meanwhile, here are two pictures of miniatures with the first one showing a Heroic scale, and the second one a Historical scale, so you can see the difference. The difference is more subtle than on human miniatures I would say, but nevertheless there is a slight difference.

Most I found were either resin or had a mix of weapons (so not only hammerers). There are loads of companies that make metal dwarf miniatures, but they all look a bit dated (which personally is a look that I love, but it might clash with the rest of your army if it mostly consists of newer looking sculpts).

I found these three that might work, depending on your preference.

There are these metal dwarfs from "The Assault Group". Lovely sculpts, I have them myself.

Then there are these plastic hammerers from Avatars of War.

These Gamezone dwarfs, made in metal.

Neat, thanks! I like the Oathmark dwarves (I think those are what the historical scale ones are) but I think I'll save them for Oathmark. The Doomcrushers/Kingsguard look nice, I think those are going to be it.
