I was given the codex "Cities of Sigmar"  My Rinn and I game with a group that uses 8th Edition for quiet sometime.  But we may be pulled into the dark abyss of Sigmar.  It is an interesting codex, I will NOT rebase but may use fantasy conversion bases.

Havent used it yet. I have only tried the faction that came before and was pretty fun.
Aside from the fact we dont have any shooty units anymore, unless we buy some humies or elgi, the cities of sigmar battletome looks really interesting.

The answer to that is straightforward: my quarrellers and thunderers are simply freeguild crossbows and handgunners. After living with and training with the humans for so long, my dwarves have become more like them. No one objects, it fits fluff, and has minimal impact on gameplay.

I am amazed at how excellent that codex is. After so long of trying to make the dispossessed work, to have access to useful rules and units is incredible.

Hail, Dwarf-brother!
If I can give you an advice, the best edition of Warhammer is the 6th. Give it a try.
