Thrang glared hard at the guard. “I did not come here to ‘make myself comfortable’” he said firmly. “I came here to warn you and to seek aid. The manlings in New Haven have dug up some big bugger of a daemon. If it escapes it could destroy us all! Gnollengrom demands I contact the nearest dwarf of seniority. We need to get hold of a runesmith and do something about it before it does to us first!”
He poked a finger at the dwarf’s face “Your commander would be very unhappy if you failed to follow protocol!”

"Let's surmise," Lars thought to himself. "The woman must have gone down into those caves, either dragged in by the Skaven or on her own accord - she most likely went down rather recently, therefore we'd have noticed the body if it was here. Damn it - searching for her in these tunnels would be like a trying to find a needle in a haystack. A needle in a very dangerous haystack." Lars thought to himself.

"I'd say that we block these tunnels, both of the ones we found. Then make our way back up." Lars said.

Abbey

A few hours later the four returned back into the abbey proper where the blind man was waiting.

"You going to tell me that you found her or are you going to tell me that she will be lost?" he asked as they returned.

Dwarf Mine

The warrior simply laughed at Thrang before saying, "You can wait in the inn or in the stocks, your choice elgen ufti."

He then stepped back to allow Thrang the chance to move first in either direction.  Thrang looked around and saw that the longbeard by the entrance had taken notice of the debate in the hallway and was staring at them with interest.

"Unfortunately we were unable to find the woman, or any evidence of her presence - if she was killed down there then her body is lost." Lars said. "On the other hand, we were able to discover the presence of Skaven down in the catacombs - they were presumably what the dwarfs got into a fight with. If my intuition's correct they seemed to be trying to dig their way into the foundations of the abbey - you do realise that the only thing potentially protecting your from a horde of ratmen is a locked door? Regardless, we were able to block the tunnels we discovered, so the Skavens' progress has been halted, for now." Lars finished.

Thrang clenched his fists and drew breath, about to give the guard a very vocal piece of his mind, when he caught the eye of the longbeard.
He turned to the longbeard for appeal, pointing wildly in the direction of New Haven “What part of ‘there’s a daemon out there’ is so damn funny?!”
He took a step towards the elder and addressed him directly. “I’ve got more important things to do than sit in your mead-hall at the bottom of some list, and you can be thagging sure yon beast from the outer dark won’t take a ticket and sit patiently! If nobody here is prepared to help me then I’ll have my elf back and find somebody who will!”
He realised he had raised his voice to an elder and lowered his head respectfully.
“I... am concerned that your guard is not taking the security of this mine seriously, I have travelled here to give you the chance to do something about this.”

"I am the least of your problems with the Deamonic horde underneath your mine!" Kabal sensing struggling would do no good, will let himself be forced into the cage, he sits down meditating.

[OOC: Kabal will attempt to cast Project Spirit to find where his weapons are located and map the Dwarf Strongholds and exit routes. His spirit will return as soon as possible.]

Abbey

The man simply nodded and looked almost bemused.

"Crazy old fool," said the Tilean to Lars after they waited for a response from the man that never came.  "Lets rest for a bit and head out.  We need to find our friends."

Dwarf Mine

The longbeard approached Thrang and said, "This is our hold and we run it how we see fit.  We do not run it like some zaki who runs around with an elgi believes it should be ran to suit his whim."

"Elgen ufti," muttered the warrior behind Thrang.

"We will not keep you here to be tormented by this Dumazi (Chaos Being) you seem to rant about," continued the longbeard.  "You are free to go at any time you wish and I shall have your weapons presented back to you and see you on your way.  The elgi remains though, as I fear he has some sort of sinister hold on you already."

Lars was partly relieved that the old man had acted so calmly to the group failing to find the woman - he was used to being threatened with the gallows or immediate refunds for 'failing' in such tasks.

"Perhaps. You need to go and find your friends, actually." Lars replied. "I'm staying here - got some business to take care of. Nevertheless, good luck in finding the others and thanks for the help down in the catacombs - I think you know where the Zanek party went; the dwarf mine.

The man looked confused at Lar's words.  He spoke a few words to his fellows in that other language before turning back to Lars.

"What more business can you have here?  Surely you wish to reunite with your party as well?"

"I'm on a job and the details are personal. As for the party, I was hired by them and when we discovered what was in the ruins I moved on." Lars replied flatly, though politely enough.

“The daemon is out there, not in here!” Thrang tapped his helmet. “If you cannot or will not help me then I will charge you only this; redouble your guard and prepare for dark times. Let it be remembered that Thrang Thunderforge came here to warn you.” he thrust a finger severely at the book on the longbeard’s desk.
“I’ll have mine and the elf’s weapons returned to me” he added. “He’s done you no wrong and I trust he will be allowed to leave freely when you’re done with him. I’m going to visit your ale-house to wash the dust from my throat. I’ll speak no more about daemons to anyone, you won’t want panic in the hold. Although given Mhor’bran’s (lit: dim-wit) response it’ll just raise laughter.” He jerked his thumb at the guard.

[Thrang will await the longbeard’s reply]

Abbey

The man exchanged a few more words with his fellows and then turned and bowed.

"As you wish, we take our leave."

With that the three moved across the hallway and into another room where they prepared to rest for a bit.  Lars was left alone with the blind bretonnian.

Dwarf Mine

The longbeard puffed out his chest which sent ripples down his long beard.  He then thumped his chest as he spat on the ground at Thrang's feet.

"Bring the elgi ufti's weapons," he bellowed as the warrior stepped into an alcove and returned with the dwarf's weapons.  "They will sit here until you leave and then you are free to take them with you.  I suggest, wana-zaki, that when you leave you do not return.  As far as the elgi goes, we will determine what vile deceptions he breathes and deal with him accordingly."

The weapons were placed on the table next to the longbeard who simply pulled out his sword and begun polishing it as he sat back down and glared at Thrang.  The warrior who had originally been escorting Thrang moved up behind him.

"Are you leaving or did you finally decide to let me escort you to the tavern?"

When the other three men had gone, Lars turned to the blind man and sat down.

"So, didn't have the chance to ask earlier, you speak in the future tense. You a soothsayer, haruspex?" Lars asked.

The man turned his head sideways at Lars' words before replying, "I am going to speak like I'm going to speak.  I'm not going to be any soothsayer but I am going to have a dream that will lead me here.  I'm going to dream that unless this bastion will be rebuilt, a great darkness will rise from the earth to devour it.  The lady is going to give such visions to her faithful, so she is going to give me."

"This dream about a shadow, darkness - you mentioned it earlier. Have the dreams and visions told you anything else? What the shadow is, its source?" Lars replied.

In the cell, Kabal sits in the corner. His hands, hidden behind his back attempt to manipulate the winds of magic. Thinking back to his studies, he remembers the Dwarves constant battle with the Skaven and tries to mimic their sounds outside. He ponders for a moment, and chuckles quietly, for who would worry about a chained elf when there are Skaven about.

As he finishes his casting, the sound of Skaven feet and magical laughter now being heard from outside, he feels the winds of magic break free of his grip. Forcing the spell out, lest it dissipate, he feels the flow of magic surround him although not knowing it’s effect.

Persevering with the effect dispite the miscast, his hands start to glow with an amber tint. In a amber flash of light, Kabal transforms into a Raven and starts to fly as quickly as possible towards the barracks exit.

Abbey

The man smiles at Lars and says, "This chapel of the lady is going to be ruined, the roof is going to be falling down when I and the lady are going to get there."

As he talks about the woman lost below he bows his head and makes a motion across his brow before continuing.

"I and she are going to each have a vision.  This vision will scare us both.  We will see a great shadow rise out of the ground and a lady riding forth.  She will shine like the sun she will and she will have an army with here.  She is going to use the chapel to channel her power and send the shadow back into the earth.  Well, we are going to know that we need to repair this place quick.  That shadow is going to rise up and we will need the lady to have a bastion of power to fight with."

"I am not knowing what this vision will mean, but I will see this abbey rebuilt to thwart that evil."

Dwarf Mine

The longbeard gritted his teeth as he blurted, "Well?!  You want to get a move on or do we need to kick your lump into action?"

OOC:  I'm waiting on Thrang to decide if he goes with the warrior to the tavern, if he argues further, or leaves the hold with his possessions.  As far as chronology goes, his action comes a few minutes before the daring escape attempt of Bel-Kabal.

"You want to repair this place, the two of you? Well, good luck." Lars replied while looking around at the poor state of the abbey. "Listen, you mustn't have been the only previous occupants of this place, judging by how old it is, have you noticed anything unusual recently; any evidence of inhabitation?"

The blind man laughed merrily before regaining his composure enough to chuckle out, "You are going to see all the signs of what will make that scratching down below and then you will ask if this place will show any signs of inhabitants?  Now whether that scratching will be the source of my vision or not remains to be seen, but I'm not sure if you can see it any better."

"Well yeah, the scratching can be heard from below. I'm on about inside the abbey, not in the foundations but within the abbey itself. So, aside from the scratching sounds, has there been anything suspicious happening in, or around, the abbey lately?" Lars replied.
