Hello Everyone,

It has probably been 7-8  years since I have posted on this forum, but I have returned to share my love of the Dawi... or Duardin. I am trying to get into AoS and am slowly coming around to it. I have very much enjoyed the Spear of Shadows book, but wanted to ask some questions. Warning for spoilers ahead in the thread.

Who is the ancient Duardin that Grungi speaks to and calls grandfather. He seems to be a god above gods and I am immensely curious. Is it the White Dwarf? What else do we know about him?

Greetings, brother, and welcome back again! As for your questions. Reynolds writes with no regard for any other fluff and likes inventing things that never return in other his works, so take him always with a grain of salt. But otherwise nothing is really known on the matter, and most likely we will never really know. But yeah, it might be a White Dwarf, indeed, but as of yet he has not fluff, sadly.

That is a tad frustrating no? You would think the lore in these books would be pored over by Games Workshop in these early days.

Thanks for the welcome back, I am thinking about dusting off my old dawi and bringing them out  to do battle once more as the dispossessed.

Well, something is connected to the other bits of lore but most of it in the BL books are on their own, so they just help more to define the characters than anything else. And personally, I don't like Reynold's style, too much water and sentences so complex he does not even know what he has written. There are better authors out there in BL anyway.

And yeah, your stunties would be certainly glad to get back to work. They have not one already but 8 worlds to conquer.
