hi to all you beardlovers out there.

Mostly i'm here to lurk and learn, and to use the many good ideas i find here.

But here's the thing:

Call me an elf/gobbo or orc, but i can't wrap my head around magic and Dwarfs.

I understand the rules when there are no wizards in the dwarven army.

But does the Runesmith count as a wizard ruleswise?

No, he doesn't. So when rules say "wizard", they don't work for runesmiths. But a runesmith can generate dispell dice.

Which is almost a good thing. If Runesmiths were counted wizards, we'd lose our natural +2 to dispel attempts.

Note that Runelords aren't wizards either, even when they are equipped with an Anvil of Doom. So all of that End Times magic stuff that applies to wizards does not apply to us.

Yes, the anvil is basically just a (large) magic item with bound spells.

Runesmiths/lords are just regular characters that can generate dispell dice and carry dispell scroll equivalent magic rune item.

Essentially; there are no wizards in the dwarf army but there are many magic items and special rules that allow dwarfs to do wizard-like stuff.
