If the trick with the rune of spite would work, does that mean that attacks in CC made by the fiery ring of thori would also be AP?
Cause that would also be nice :P

Breath attacks don't benefit from other special rules, so no.

Breath attacks don't benefit from other special rules, so no.

BRB doesn't say that. It says the strength and any special effects will be covered in its rules... such as S4, Flaming attacks.

It totally leaves open that a model's inherent special rules that affect the model's close combat attacks (so, not a magic weapon) could indeed affect a breath weapon.

Again, a RoCleaving does not make an AP Fiery Ring of Thori.

But a Runesmith/Forgefire Thane Fiery Ring of Thori could totally be AP.

well it says any  special effects will be covered.

So I'm gonna agree with Zidane_blade and say that it does not affect the ring.

According to the BRB faq, breath attacks don't benefit from special rules.

Balric gave a good sum-up of interaction between R o Spite and different sources of AP.

When it comes to any breath weapon, breath weapons have only those special rules that appear on their description. No special rules that the character might have, or might have inherited from the unit, surrounding models, or whatever, would apply.

So, no AP on the Ring, double or tripple Ro Fire, or whatever.
