As far as I know, Danish Dwarf really was the best, with 91 points in total!

This is the link to the match-up analysis. It is quite interesting.
Bear in mind that I've been spoiling the results, but hey, no one is perfect.

Was great to see you too Darko, and good to see you raising the next generation of wargamer from an early age!
Matchup analysis yields just one surprise for me, and thats Wood Elfs - I'm suprised we win against them tbh, I don't really see how that happens winning against greenskins and skaven shows the value of automatic hatred IMO, as they struggle to facerush us when they deem it worthy more than in the last book. Everything else is under 10 because of the good old "I hide for 10, or rush for a win" reason.
Danish list is an awesome design. It maxes out the best things in the book (gyrocopters and cannons), and then on their replacements when the comp kicks in (the otherwise crappy bombers and BTs). Glad to see it kick Test, it almost allows the dwarfs to reach 10 points average across the tournament!

I'm pretty sure we only get wins against WE because a lot of them hadn't played many games or made some silly mistakes. TBH I had it down as a draw most of the time and I wouldn't be surprised to see WE do better in the future.

I think I balanced out the Danish Dwarf quite nicely dropping the average below 10...
It was an awesome list, led by an awesome player. Canons were really nerfed by the maps this years, as were the BTs. But he played that list so well!
I think Dwarfs scored deserved 10ish points because of decent players.
I agree with Crompton. Against any Elf race, with an optimized list, I see 7-8 being our real score. The dice, the list, the Lore of Shadow or Death, or mistakes could tip this either way, but basically, specially in Furion's ETC2014 maps, they have the toys to hurt us, and means to preserve (hide) points from us.

Agreed the wood elf analysis is a shocker - not sure this is reflective of reality. I played and beat Belgium w'elf player 15-5, when I cannon sniped out his lord and then another level 4 caster. That maybe, is the slight factor in our favour, small w'elf, units sizes that gives us chances to cannon out expensive characters.

That's how I generally get a burst of points. With Wood Elves, you need to get a solid victory margin *assuming* they kill all your war machines and gyros. It's hell for us, especially in a 20-nil system with a large points threshold for a 20.

Yeah, I believe everyone except Poland and Germany were thrilled to see them in the 1st place!
They received standing ovation, specially after claiming "There's a new sheriff in town!"
Awesome! And extremely decent opponents.
I should be very careful not to allow my personal score (ouch!) influence my posts on overall feelings about ETC.
It was extremely good seeing all of the Dwarfs there, but also some other friends! The fact that I can call some of the people I've met at ETC friends (after only 3 years) is the best recommendation for the event! Regardless of where it happens, the players make it worth the trouble, and make me determined to attend the next one, on the Team, or just for the Singles.
I truly look forward to seeing even more of you and more of the ETC in Prague!
