*grumble* Terran Space Marines with shields by my beard.. They'll make the rest of my throng look like a "I swear too much" bunch of scruffy halflings.... *grumble*

It's supposed to be a multi-kit, so you may be able to cherrypick the Longbeards' heads and give them the hammerers' hammers.
I may be using the 'longbeard heads' on the Hammerers too then.

Really hope the shields are an separate item on the sprue, would love to get my hands on some of them. The longbeards do look really nice.

At first sight I assumed those models to be ironbreakers. They looking freaking awesome (too bad I've already built a 40-strong LB unit). Also, if IB are going to look even tougher and more armoured, I cannot wait to see them!
The hammerers are also looking a lot better in these pics. Such sweet hammers! Plus now that I know what options I have with the kit, I'm buying at least one box for hammerers.

I'll be in my bunk.
Those are easily the greatest rank and file minis GW has ever produced. Bless my beard.

BY MY BEARD, WHERE ARE ME DAMN HORNS AND WINGS ON THOSE HELMETS?!?!?
And where are the noses. I see a big honker on that musician, maybe he is a mutant compared to the rest of 'em.
they totally look like AVATARS OF WAR figures to me. Like, completely. The banner looks identical to some of the AOW ones.
they definitely don't fit in with the rest of the range.
BUT I LOVE THOSE SHIELDS <3<3<3
also, those shields look more epic than belegar's shield.
I don't even know what to think anymore. I need therapy or something.

Have to say i agree. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. The shields look a lot like scibor's golden guard though(which are, given the announced prices, my no.1 candidate for a unit of hammerers).
The pictures also show the old core plastics so at least we know that hasn't changed.

I think its exciting to see a complete re-design, but I am from the camp that thought nothing was wrong with the previous Dwarfs!
This looks like a different army entirely...an army of armored bowling balls.

I am with you.
A complete overhaul of our beloved range will do that to a dwarf.

A few pictures of the new Hammerers/Longbeards that include side-bys with the current Warrior box.

Just make sure you leave the pretty pictures on the table and you should be alright.
But I agree.
And we haven't even seen the new stuff yet.

Simply amazing models...
I just realised that the new Hammerers have the same flat-top helmets as the old metal Ironbreakers. If the new IB also have that kind of helmet (would help tp mix them with the previous model) it could be away to quickly distinguish core from special infantry.
Regardless of that, I think most people will end up using longbeard heads for the new hammerers, specially if the facemasks fix doesn't work.

I have to say I'm a little jealous of all of you who are liking these models. I'm really not.
I've been a dwarf player on and off since the early 90s. And, having never been actively playing when an army book was released, I've been pretty excited about this one. All these pictures have done is dampen the fire. The new aesthetic is not at all what a Warhammer dwarf should be for me (lots of Armour - fine, small heads and straight faces - not fine).
I'm still looking forward to the book and the rules being freshened up but, unless the other releases are much different, I'll continue to collect metal models. And, perhaps finally break away from GW's monopoly on my collecting habits! Not all bad then.
Here, hear!
You have at least one in agreement at the Old Grumbler's Table... ME!

They might release some of the new rules with them in the Weekly WD, which is what I gathered that GW was planning to do, then release the AB when they felt like it.
On a side note..... MY PROFILE PIC IS ALIVE (in plastic....)!!!!!!!!!!

Alright, you old Grumblers. you need to take a long, hard look at the face on that hammerer champ and tell me with a straight face it's inferior to the current plastics.
I guarantee these are superior in every way. Once we get em in hand and go to work on em, it will be like the ancestors reborn.
Look at the hammerers. now look at the great weapons. Now back to the hammers. Now back to the great weapons. They are not even in the same class.

That's a better picture, and with it showing the new units, with the current Dwarfs. It may mean my previous post is redundant. I will want both units, my poor bank account is groaning already and I haven't brought anything yet!

Better than any Dwarf plastics made = YES!
Able to fit in with a mostly metal throng collected since the late 90's = NO!
I will say, however, that the new minis do look striking. And, even over the course of a few minutes they are growing on me a bit. But I am interested in adding to an existing army, not replacing every unit within it!
I can't wait to see the new stuff, including some kind of centerpiece...please be a gronti duraz!

seriously, seriously considering selling my entire throng to make a new throng based around these models.
