Thank you so much for sharing these. I was hoping they'd go on pre-order today, but nevermind....

They do look really cool. The plastic hammerers look better than I imagined - I'll have to see them in the flesh before committing as I got a bit unit of metal hammerers recently. We'll see...The plastic LBs sound interesting too.

The jumping slayer seems interesting - maybe a bit too athletic for my tastes, but still, he looks a really impressive sculpt.

Thank you for these.

I really like the models, I think the detail is amazing, even if the poses on the slayer seems strange it can be fixed, and the mono pose on the hammerers, as long as it's plastic it can also be altered.   What concerns me is the magic not runic comment.  If it is a special character, then maybe because of that they are giving them magic weapons so you can still make the runic version in an army, but if we went straight magic it is going to be a very sad day.  I'm really looking forward to the models if these represent the new standard, but now I'm scared to see the book.

That is some pretty stout armor those hammerers are wearing, here is to hoping it is made of Gromril.

It's 13 years that I'm waiting for new hammerers, and those are great, finally a full plate armour!!

slayer is perfect, just a perfect job!

Do you have also pictures of longbeards and belegar? :o

Oh well, doesn't matter, you give us  amazing stuff, you made my day XDXD!

I hope that longbeards are epic like these hammerers *_*

however, the character with hammer and shield is Belegar, king of eight peaks.. so the fact that he has a magic item, I think doesn't mean that dwarfs have not runic item anymore..simply, i think his hammer is a magic item "with name", as the axe of grimnir of Thorgrim ^^

Any hints about normal Dwarf Lords or armywide special rules from Belegar?

I'm not so sold on the hammerers. Their seems to be something wrong with their faces.

Those helmets reminds me a lot of the Mantic dwarfs.

I'm curious for the longbeards.

I had the same reaction at first.

However, since that is a photo of a photo, possibly their faces are a bit 'fisheyed' by the camera..?

I wonder if the current LongBeard masks will fit..

BR

P.s Love the look of the swirl encrusted armor and helms; reminiscent of the old Grombrindal figure. Proper hammers too!

It looks as though the current plastic face-masks could be a good fit on these new Hammerers. That's good if they do fit, because I admit that I find the faces and beards in this photo of them to look poorly sculpted/painted..

I think the old metal Hammerers (current) have so much more detail and character in the beard and face than these ones do.

I do like everything else about them (weapons and armour).

I suppose I wanted to see whole unit that looked more like what we have as Thronebearers currently.

It will be interesting to see whether the head swaps and bodies are different and how they have executed what we have rumoured to be a dual kit between Longbeards and Hammerers.

No problem with the slayer apart from those awful tacky pants he's wearing, haha..

Its interesting that GW seem to have taken a big leap with the design. Perhaps after seeing AoW they felt they needed to up their game. I definitely think they've taken inspiration from the style found in the Hobbit/Lord of Rings films.

Now I'm old school and if its not from 80's I'm not interested but compared to previous plastic dwarfs I think they look rather good. My only slight concern is with the largeness of the hammer and the giant metal thingy hanging from the beard. But as a first look and expecting GW to make a complete dogs dinner of the dwarfs I'm definitely leaning toward a thumbs up.

Come on! Blue and White striped pants is a slayer classic. (grumblegrumble, youngsters, grumblegrumble)
I think it is a nice nod towards older dwarf players.

I'm super pleased with the new look. At risk of heresy, I don't like the old somewhat comical marauder look. Tiny bretonians, tiny empire, but no exclusive look. Theses guys really look like they come from their own culture. They also look stout without looking fat, and their feet are sensical as opposed to just sort of tacked on. And the armor!! Omg what I will do with that armor with glazes.

Disappointing.

The slayer looks like a direct copy of AOW. The Hammerers look like Mantic dwarfs (bad helmets) cross-bred with Scribor (oversize weapons). There also seems a real lack of variety in poses, as far as great-weapons troopers go Imperial Greatswords and Black Orcs were done much better.

Does anyone else find that their beards' volume is a little lack-lustre? I know it's not a good thing to judge the sculpting quality from these raw magazine shots, but they don't seem to have the size or elaborateness that even the current Hammerers have in their beards.

This is most evident when comparing the moustaches. I think the whole length of the beard looks flat and shallow..

well, i find a little bit "bizarre" to define these helmets as "mantic style"..

I think that these photos shows a very high potential. The way Gw has painted hammerers is terrifying, the sculpture of the armor is completely wasted by a bad, flat painting.

We have to wait and see, I think that those new kits will be amazing, maybe I'm too excited for this release, but this new style is finally dwarfish.

It's definitely a step forward for our own cultural designs reflected in the models.

Definitely very Dwarfish!

I'm a little concerned over the 'magic' not 'runic' items.  That could just be White Dwarf though, not necessarily Army book etc.

I dunno.  I'm sure GW wanted to bring the Dwarfs more in-line with other armies, but having a copy of the current Army book, I appreciate the customization Dwarfs have with the Rune system.

I'm hoping it was just sloppy WD writing and not a hint of no more runes.

As for the models, I really like them.  The Hammerers do seem a bit static in their poses, and I agree with some that the faces look a bit funny.  However, the detail of the armor and weapons looks great.  A single plastic slayer makes me wonder though...No more slayer regiments maybe?

Edit: I took a second look at the Hammerers and I think I recant some of what I said about their faces.  I think while the beards aren't as 'fulsome' they look quite good, and I like the narrower face over the chubby ones on the current warriors.  They look less like short/fat beardy people and more stocky and tough, as a Dwarf should be.

I think we're kind of stuck with the poses on the hammerers but the long beards looked much much better. If/when I buy these kits it will be for the long beards and not the hammerers, the LB's just looked so much better imo (maybe it was the shields.)  And I agree with the comment someone made about it being a photo of a photo, I dont remember having any issue with the faces looking weird.

I'm very curious about longbeards :) can you please describe us some details? the body looks exactly the same as hammerers, or helmets are different? the beard is a very long beard, or we have only "the same beard, but paint in white"?

shield have runic decorations? what about the hand weapons?

have you seen the command group of hammerers?

sorry for this interrogation, but i cannot wait anymore XD

My first thoughts were "Oh, not what I had in mind". But I have to wait for better pictures. When the 360 pictures come things might look a whole lot better. Hope the rules are still "Dwarfish",
