Hi! I haven't been active with Warhammer for years, and I opened up my old boxes the other day. I found this thing, and could not remember what it's called etc. Didn't manage to find it when trying to google, hard without knowing the name, and instead I found this forum. Could anyone help me?

Malakai Makaisson's Goblin-Hewer,

best goodloking warmachine there is. and if legal, would be better in this 8th edit then when it came out. whit all does horde blocks of enemys

flank shot would be so nice.

Actually, it isn't that good. It does D3 wounds per rank. If it hits on a BS of 4... Works better on those 5x8 slave and Clanrat units :D

Wasn't it D3 str4 hits per rank (or file when firing in the side)?

Also, off the top of my head, Malakai had a BS of 5 (good for his repeater handgun) and there was a -2 save modifier for hits from the hewer.

Shoot at long range, hit a unit of marauders on a 3+. If the unit is the standard 10x5, then you get 5d3 str4 hits. So really, when it hits a horde unit, you get about 10 str 4 AP hits. Sounds nice, but it's not game breaking to take down 7ish T3 models a turn.

Now, if you hit that unit in the flank! Well...still not game breaking, but it'd feel damned good. I'd say that a runed up grudge thrower would still be points better spent.

I used to find it pretty good on a knights flank. 10-12 hits wound on 3s and -2 to AS. Pretty sweet. Unbreakable was nice as well. Only used it a couple of times in 7th though and I don't have the model so I missed out on the best bit.

OR! Use it to proxy an organ gun for your "no gun powder" army.

i really love the proxy idea Dourin, makes perfect sense (except when being hit by a template weapon) but if you can cope with it awesome idea.

Beautiful model!

I used it as Hewer in several friendly games. It is not game-breaking, it is well priced. You have to give up Malakai's personal shooting, but it is nice to have it on the table.

I used it as a second GT (it does hit a similar number of models at a similar strength). Even on ETC I had no problem using it as a GT.

I have a second GT now, so I'm trying to persuade some friends to have a huge 10k battle with me so I could use it in that one.
