So far I've ordered two lots of dwarfs from two different stores and both have messed up the orders!!!! One even mixed up a bolt thrower with 2 grudge throwers, fair enough a bolt thrower does have the word thrower in its name but how two boxes gets translated into one box I do not know, neither apparently does the store...
The Empire Engineer and Witch Hunter* did turn up, but they were coming from a third store. Guess it was third time lucky...
*they're for a small, non-magic, gun and tech based empire force allied to my dwarf force, once it eventually turns up.

Are you in the U.S.? I had the same kind of problems, only with unit types getting mixed up and command groups getting switched. Everything seems to be on backorder concerning Dwarfs in the U.S.

I've never had such problems even when I did order from GW...that seems odd. These days though I stick to Ebay and Bartertown, both of which are cheaper.

I had an issue with a recent order from Chaos Orc Superstore myself. The website itself had decent prices, but the pictures and titles were misleading. 22 hammerers for $30 seemed like a great deal, but the picture was of 22 BfSP warrior champions so I passed on that. I found an $8 slayer command with the three metal models pictured, advertising a sealed blister as well. They sent me the musician and standard bearer, but no Giant/Dragon slayer model, and the blister was obviously opened. No one has replied yet.

I'm in the UK and sadly GfG are one of the ones who messed up
Wayland Games seems ok but I've only ordered from them twice?
GW are good but their delivery policy means orders over a certain value are sent by courier and last time the courier would only deliver Monday to Friday during office hours, when rather surprisingly I'm at work in an office?!?! I only use them for small orders these days...

you can pick up in store can't you?

With GW yeah I think they offer this, but they don't have a shop in the town where I live/work, it'd be about a 3 hour round trip. If I order online then the worsed that should happen is that I have a 20 minute round trip to the post office to pick up a parcel...

Probably not that connected to dwarfs. I've had lots of issues ordering things from smaller stores. It's always a little bit annoying, but it's sad when it gets to the point that they don't get my business any longer!

Surely the answer is to break your orders up to stay below that value? In the UK any order over £10 gets free postage, so it'll not cost you anything...
I've only ordered from Wayland the once, but it went very smoothly and I'd happily use them again.

Think I'll be sticking with Wayland Games for the time being...
Gifts for Geeks are now telling me one of the items I ordered and they didn't send isn't actually available anymore!!!

Where abouts do you live, Athelstan? You might want to consider moving out of the Bermuda Triangle before ordering any more things =p

I think the shop must be run by a bunch of grobi...

A bunch of finecast-lovin grobi I wager.
Did you order pewter items? I bet the snag is them getting replaced with the finecast and suppliers running out of the old stuff- or returning it to get melted down. I was talking with a GW guy on the phone to get a part replaced and he told me Santa isn't real, the Easter Bunny died years ago, and GW melts down their old models in when they go OOP.

No the same problem , but still annoying. Ive bought some Norse dwarfs via Ebay 29th of May, he sent them out on the 7th and they are still not here, he seems to be a decent guy and his ratings are great, so I am scared that they got lost on the way, he is sure that they will turn up but seriouslly it never took something that long from UK to Germany for me. I am so angry at the moment...

I ordered a pewter runesmith, which they said was in stock but then turned out not to be. They told me it was no longer available and sent me a finecast one instead, which is a totally different model not just a finecast version of the same one. I got the original pewter one from GW cos it is apparently still available...
I also ordered 2 finecast grudgethrowers, they sent me 1 boltthrower?!?! They have subsequently sent me 1 grudgethrower but I'm still waiting for the second one. They kept telling me it wasn't in stock until I pointed out the GfG website said it was in stock and could be despatched within 24 hours. That was almost 3 weeks ago and since then they have stopped replying to my emails
I've now asked for a refund and will just get the second grudgethrower from Wayland Games or GW... I hope :D
Theatralic - the UK post is pretty slow at the moment, I think they're getting swamped by Olympics tickets at the moment. Its taken a week for a book to reach me and that's inside the UK. Hope you're Norse dwarfs turn up soon and if not hope the seller is decent enough to give you a refund

It's just so annoying when things go wrong and the vendor won't sort it out!!!
Oh well, that's what grudges are for, now if only I had something to throw them with...
