I was just wondering what your favorite moments are when your playing.
My top 5 are:
5. Having my plucky unit champ wound the enemy lord in a duel
4. Placing the perfect GT shot
3. Having a unit of warriors hold out all game against an enemy unit that should wipe them out easily (20 warriors vs. 30 chosen ftw)
2. Completely crushing my opponents will so that they are about to concede but i get them to go 1 more turn only for their entire army to rally and proceed to mount a comeback that should be impossible according to all the laws of god and man.
1. The look on my opponents face when they realize the Organ Gun doesnt roll to hit ("Okay cool 10 shots. Im in hard cover, have a -1 to hit banner and.... oh "I Swear too much")

I think my best moment is the enemy charge in their strongest unit into my ironbreaker and after the bloody combat watching their faces drop when we work out they only won the combat by one.
That or managing to dispel a unit buff/hex at a crucial moment of the game.

*Starts smoking pipe and sits by the fireplace*
It was a 1500p game. My dwarves vs VCs.
His army consisted of
20 Grave guards
2 big units of ghouls
and some other stuff.
My army consisted of
20 hammerers
2 x 20 quarrelers
2 GTs
1OG
His general(vampire) was in a 20 man strong GraveGuard unit.
FIRST ROUND
My quarrelers kill 9 GGs.
Both of my two GTs hit the GG unit, and finish it off, scoring 7 and 4 wounds each, leaving the Vampire on it's own.
My organ gun fires at the Vampire, scoring a 10 at the artillery dice and causing the the foul andead 5 unsaved wounds.
In other words... having my artillery kill the enemy character and the unit he is leading in the FIRST TURN!

My favorite moment was when me and my buddy was playing a friendly pick me up game at 1k points. We were having the social drink and talking about old times. Then by turn two I had killed 750ish points of his army and the rest were fleeing, all without me losing a single dawi. My Runesmith had taken one wound however but had managed to kill an eagle and his high elf noble or what ever their called.

Gather round beardlings, for this longbeard has a tale to tell.....
Mine was in my first game against the Skaven...my lord performed the best he has every done in any game. First he held off 30 plague rats from behind a blessed balwark for 3 turns, then got charged by an abom in the flank, and he killed it. Eventually help came and he survived the game.
My 2nd favorite was in a game against Wood Elves. I was fighting against a mostly eternal guard and wardancers army, and his entire army charged into my GW warrior line. My quarrellers with GWs were near a sorcerers portal, got the lore of life spell that gives them WS10 and I10 cast on them, and charged into the flank of the WE battleline, pretty much winning me the game.
My 3rd was against Deamons, when his bloodthirster got shot by my cannon T1, rolled a 6 for wound, then I crushed his bloodletters with a flank charge by my IBs, they went down in a turn but the deamonettes ended up doing the most damage...beating my shield warriors and damaging my unit of GW quarellers. Won the game by a substantial margin....

When my friend's giant stuffed my Ironbreaker champ into his pants for the first time. Had no idea they could do that, and was deeply, deeply amused.

My favorite moment was back during 6th edition and the Storm of Chaos. We were playing a 3v3 12,000 point game. My Dwarves were holding the middle of our line when one of our opponents' 16 man unit of boar boy big'uns managed to make it in charge range of my x-bows. Unfortunately I was unable to reform in time to accept the charge, however he missed all his attacks and in return I managed to kill enough to win combat by 1. He then failed his break test and fleed! the only thing that would have made this perfect is if I had managed to pursue and run him down. To this day he has yet to field his boar boys again.

Master Rune of Challenge when it works. Killed quite a few mages like that.
4+ on the Spelleater Rune eating "The Dreaded 13th" on turn 4 when he saw me wasting my last DD.
Having a solid 2 hour game ending in a draw with my Hammerers in opponent's deployment zone!

any game that is very close, from start to finish, or one with an astonishing comeback in the middle.

I once had a Greybeard in a challenge with a Skaven riding on a bonebreaker. The Rat Ogre scored 2 wounds, and I only rolled one 6 for my armour saves. Figuring there was no way I could roll another one I had almost didn't bother to roll my parry and then I scored the 6, won the combat and ran the unit of rat ogres down!
In my last game I had a giant eagle hovering dangerously close to my cannons which also put it 3" away from my Dragon Slayer. I declared the charge and with the eagle having taken 1 wound already and the previous magic and shooting phases managing to see both of my cannons off the table the Eagle fled. My Dragon Slayer needed an 11 to make the distance. So he tightened his laces, put 3 pumps in his Nike's and rolled the 12 for distance.
Game wise it didn't score his points, but it was a great moment and it put him out of reach ensuring he survived the rest of the game.

I once had a detachment of Umgi x 6 take out a unit of Ogre Bulls. That same unit held down a goblin fanatic in another game with a lone survivor. He did not panic and was charged by the unit of thirty goblins that released the fanatic- and held close combat for two turn before pulling a Fallstaff.*
Then there's the legend of the loooooone Flagellant who kicked a bunch of elves out of a tower. Oooo then there's Don Quiote, the loan spearman surviving and charging the enemy artillery. Hmmm, I guess it's the survivor stories I like best.
*Fallstaff- the sodden old man from Henry IV who is most famously quoted for his speech on discretion being the greater part of valor.

I played a game against a mono nurgle WOC army. The board had a river dividing it in half, with a large bridge leading into a village. Left side of the board had no buildings, but instead natural scenery. The right side had the village. It was very scenic.
My army deployed for the most part on the left side, with only a single exploding bolt thrower on the right side. He followed suit, but had a large unit of knights w/ lord, some marauders and dogs on the right side. My army moved to dispatch what he had on the left side, and I sent my lord+hammerers to hold the bridge.
The hammerers slaughtered the dogs who came across first, and then met his knights. They broke the knights after a long and fierce combat, and chased them off the bridge. Unfortunately, they chased the knights into the village. Marauders came out from around a house and charged the hammerers, holding them up for the knights to rally and get back into the fray. The hammerers fought courageously, but were killed to a dwarf.
As the game came to an end, I had destroyed everything he had on the left side of the board, and turned towards that bridge. His knights rode up onto the bridge, only to have all of my artillery open up on them. The knights were blown away. We agreed that what probably happened was that the cannons destroyed the bridge, dumping the heavily armored knights into the fast flowing water.
It was the most cinematic experience I have had in warhammer. From the board to the story that played out, it was amazing.

1st dice roles of a game i fired 3 bolt throwers at a unit of 18 ogre ironguts and killed 8 of them before dropping another 5 with direct hits from 2 grudge throwers and 3 more with a unit of 20 quarreller rangers. the look on my opponents face was priceless his unstoppable combat unit virtually obliterated in 1 turn of shooting

First turn of the game, killing a Screaming Bell and attendant wizard with a single cannon shot. Boom!

My Empire inner circle cavalry (9) with a general with runefang did a great charge last game. They charged forward slaughtering a hydra routing and overrunning 20 plague monks, and arrived at a dark elf khaine shrine when they killed one of them and routing the others. All this got a loss of 4 knights and they wear on the way to attack 20 skaven clan rats and 12 dark elf crossbowmen when the game ended.

1. When both my organ guns rolled 10 in one turn vs. WE.
2.When my warriors rolled two ones against black orcks horde.

I play until a full army dies, and my runelord with 2+ rerollable armour save was in a unit with bsb, GW warrior champ, and marched around as his mates died to a dark elgi bolt thrower and my arty died to a combat lord. As the lord marched round, he killed, on his own with no rune weapon, the bolt thrower, a death hag and her attendant cauldron, and took a wound off said combat lord with 1+ armour and pendant before dying. The last combat took ridiculous amounts of turns though. He got a post humous award of a great hammer.
Awesome for a runelord.

Been playing since 2nd Ed and some of my favourite plays have been:
5/ After chewing his way through a 5K undead army a giant slayer hero’s stat line ending up as 10/10/10/10/10/10/10/10/10 etc thanks to a parasitic blade.
4/Being very undwarfish and firing a cannon through a unit of quarrellers to take out and opponents pumped up general then watching him sulk as the rest of his puny elvish army crumbled.
3/Hitting an anvil with ancient power and slamming two units of miners into Teclis who made short work of the most powerful mage in the Warhammer world.
2/ Informing a newbie friend that ‘Dwarf artillery is the most reliable in the game’ then having 2 cannons and an organ gun go boom in the first two turn!
1/ My regular opponent declaring that ‘If you’re male and live in Bretonnia you’ve chance of becoming king’ thanks to my repeated slaying of their monarch.

My first proper tourney against Empire
Got chaged by some Halberdiers hoping to hold me for one turn while he move his knight for a flank attack
The Halberdier died rolled a 8(7 forDwarves) an caught the knights in the flank - they had the General and BSB - won melee he rolled 11 twice (reroll)
fled rooled three dice - I then rolled an 11 caught them and destoyed his most powerful unit
At the same time he fired his helblaster at my slayer kill all but my Giant slayer who then charged - killed the crew then killed all his huntsmen
and to finish it off - he was one of the nicest players and took the defeat with total respect and he went on to win the best player award
Great day
(also fought a giant and had some slayers put in his pockets -laughed so so Hard)
