Can anyone help me? I want to know what the standard amount of points for an average game is. Is it still 2,000 points? Someone told me it went up to 2,400. I think its based on tournament points size but im not sure, just looking for some clarity

Actually, there is no real standard amount. It all depends on where you play, and how you play.
Around here (Belgium) a lot of people still play 2000 or 2250 lists, but a lot of tournaments seem to use 2400 or 2500.
I guess you should check out a local gaming group and some local tournament sites to see what the amount is that most people play in your region!
