After taking these pictures I can see where the bases need touching up and some of the jewels really need more "polishing". Any other critiques? And alas, my camera skills still are lacking lol...

Wow, some very nice Ironbreakers, loving the shields! Where did you get most of them?

The golds might benefit from some more depth to them. Try perhaps a gryphonne sepia wash followed by some highlighting with the previous gold and perhaps a smaller highlight with burnished gold or a mix of glorious gold with silver.

Sorry I did not answer your question right away Dourin. Five of the Ironbreakers are from the command box, they were actually my first Dwarf purchase just because they look so cool. One of the models (the one that looks out of place lol) is an independent sculpt from a guy in the UK, minimax or maxmini I can't remember which at the moment. The replacements shields are from Scibor, I always thought that the most heavily armored Dwarfs that rely on a shield wall as their main tactic should have BIG shields unlike the tiny "bucklers" GW supplies lol.

Next time I go to the store I will have to pick up some Gryphonne Sepia. Thanks for the tip man...

Another newly finished piece with a slight conversion as well. It is a Reaper Mini called Logrim, I believe. He originally had a longsword but Dwarfs look silly with swords so I cut it off and added a halberd/two-hand axe head instead. Was tired of painting silver armor so I thought I'd try blue instead. As always critiques are wanted...

I was bored one day and had been trying to think of an idea for a unit filler and after a few hours of browsing the net I came across that one. It's from a store called Dream Pod 9.

Instead of blue I'm wondering if maybe I should give it a rocky appeal to it with some gray hues since the rest of my army is already blue.

Yes either a granite or marble effect or maybe a golden yellow like sandstone

Or even polished Black marble maybe awesome

Nice work on these minis! the unit champion and those IB shields are my favorite.
