I'd like top start by saying of ask the communities for warhammer on the Web this is by far the best one to feel you are a part of. I know people on here who I would gladly let visit my house because I feel as though I know who they are on at least a basic level.
that is why i'm so frustrated that when we as a community start to get together on a project that some companies wouldn't be able to do, (how many people came to a consensus??) the project gets removed from the boards. I would like to say that from the beginning this was not for any individuals profit. This project was the community coming together to make something. some of us provided funding. Things cost money, but that money was to benefit the project.
I've read through the forum rules before and no where could I find mention of being unable to work with our fellow dwarves to make some thing together. where better to come together then the brewery. It is a place of community where we all come of similar mind. I hope that those of us in the project set something up separate and had I the tools to do so myself I would. But by shutting down this project all you've done is remove the communities project withen itself which hurt noone and was done to be fair to every one involved with no special treatment to any of the members involved.

I have some questions to ask James aka Bugman, as I am sure a lot of others do. I want to stress that these are reasonable questions, that deserve an answer.

1) Why was the thread closed down?
2) Why was it closed down without explanation?
3) Why was it closed down without consultation?
4) Why was there a threat made to report Alebelly to law enforcement?
5) If there was a valid reason to close it down, why was it allowed to get to this stage before action was taken?
6) Given that this was, from the start, a non-profit / profits to charity venture why is it clear from your PM to Alebelly that you think otherwise?

More personally, the only time I have ever come into real contact with the admin of this board is when something that is being done to help the community (and in turn, help the board) is threatened with closure, the City of Skulls Campaign and now this.

Bugman's is nice, but this kind of thing hardly encourages me and others to make it a better place.

It might be a question of us supporting and sponsoring the making of a mini that obviously leans very close to GW IP. The attempt to make money out of it, or percieved attempt to do so, obviously violates copyright law (or it could cause quite the lawsuit) and if Bugmans was seen to be supportive of it, Bugman himself might be found liable. Remember, it's not the original thread that was closed so there is no problem with a group of members from Bugmans clubbing together to get themselves a commemmerative (sp....) mini. It's the 'attempt' at making money, even if it was only to sponsor the creation of a new mini that was shut down.

@Novemberrain: it's not quite good form to go on discussing things said in a private communique between two members freely on the boards. Bugman doesn't owe anyone an explanation, with the obvious exception of course of possibly Alebelly.

Other then that, it might be a good idea to clear this up and resolve any underlying tensions so we can move forward.

There are a few concerns over this project which have come to light.

Whilst it's a community project we have to make sure that certain information is made clear to all people who may participate

Hopefully once we have resolved this the project can continue hopefully.

To the Op - really? Your thread title sounds a bit childish. But I do understand your concerns. The project wasn't shut down. It was asked to be moved off this site to prevent any liability if the project goes wrong. I am certainly not saying anything negative about Alebelly - so lets get that clear.
Think for a minute if Alebelly collected all the funds from over 100 Brewery members and simply disappeared? How would that be for the Brewery? Again - I am certainly not saying that Alebelly has anything but the best of intentions. But what if it happened?

Bugman feels a certain obligation to protect the members of this forum. That is all he was doing. Take a second and look at it from Bugmans view.

[sarcasm]Well, it for sure wasn't sounding like, shuting down the project/accusing AB of a scam or sth/threatening him with law enforcement[/sarcasm] I think it was the form of the actions taken by the mods, rather than actions themselves that are questioned here. Before that i was thinking of Brewery as the one of the nicest, most helpfull and friendly Warhammer community. Seeing the actions of the mods I'm not sure about that anymore and it makes me sad.

To be honest i think that immediatly shutting down the thred when you have the kind of suspicions that Bugman did is really the only option. Although he was mistaken about the intent behind the whole thing in this case, some people do genuinely try to con others using the anonymity of the internet for either money or just for the sake of doing so (some people...).

Exactly what The Low King said. People should not have the immediate reaction that whatever the moderators do or what Bugman does is to annoy the members. He's trying to protect the forum members and himself so he should receive some praise for that.

Also, I find that Alebelly's reaction in trying to reason it out with Bugman was the correct one. Us Dwarfs can be very stubborn and self-righteous but we should try and see the issue from the other person's perspective first. :)

Thanks again to Bugman and the Mods for sorting this out. :)

Gorrl - your sarcasm doesn't help matters and your accusation is patently false. You have no idea of what goes on behind the scenes. I'm positive Bugman contacted Alebelly privately.
Anyway I'm glad the project is going forward. I'm sorry if some of you can't understand action was taken to protect our members and preserve the forum.

Well, it wasn't exactly "immediate reaction" since there were like 10 pages of thread and the thread itself was almost 3 months old. Even dwarf reflexes cannot aren't that bad. All in all its good it was sorted out. Congrats for AB for sorting it out.

Whilst I thought to live in a crazy country with crazy rules, I was wrong.

You are much better.

*A guy does a huge step to promote your hobby and so to get you more cash and you paranoidly start to solve him as a form of competition. Aaaargh. Thats pretty bad. But your way. :umnik2: Everyone has to choose his own path.

Dourin was referring to the immediate reaction of dwarfs such as yourself who started to blame the mods, not Bugmans reaction to discovering the miniature thread.

Anyway, while I completely understand Bugmans initial reaction, everything has been resolved and back on track.
And I for one am very happy about that! :)

Good news is that project is going forward. So lets not keep going with anger & accusations. Back to the Forge! Good luck Alebelly !
