Everyone in Fantasy is at a different tech level, which I kind of like.

Elves are late middle ages, think battle of hastings, with a mix of late Medieval aka Longswords and plate mail.
Bretonians seem Medieval ranging from early to late.
Lizards are a stone age culture.
Tomb kings are more of a Bronze age culture.
Empire are a Renaissance style army.
Dwarfs are pre-industrial.

Of course this is all only my opinion.

Spoiler alert

Also you may consider the runes. At one point in thanquol's doom it is mentioned that the runesmith is exploring new runes. Why could this not be like regular WM. Mechanical innovation improved with runes? However instead of boosting the power or accuracy it targets for a gun that just fires.

Hello,

Playtesting has started, we worked out that similar to one use bound level magic missile of the same costs would be 20 to 25pts.

Engineers could carry up to 3, and drop them into position as required. Or in defensive games just set them up wherever, because they technically arent there, they can't be targeted by anything as they have no toughness, wounds or initiative.

We will see if it works,

I agree with this analysis.

I would add in Tilea and Estalia, who would be a hybrid of Greek Bronze Age and Early Renaissance.

Albion, which is obviously Early Middle Ages, perhaps stone age.

And also Skaven. Who are more like pre-nuclear in some aspects. Heck they even deal in gene-modification. Good thing they fight among themselves far too often.

They would need to be very expensive, and prone to blowing up to work in fantasy

I think middle ages is a bit too advanced for Albion, I think more ironage. Picts/Celtic time esp with the druid(truthsayer) influence and the sacred stones.

Not necessarily, perhaps they just have a proximity spell-like effect, much the same as dangerous terrain.

@Original poster: Ha! I've been making some turrets recently to field as a front rank for a new thunderer unit that I'm creating. In hindsight, it was actually this very topic that caused me to leap into action (though the idea has been swimming in my head since I first saw the trailer and the concept art myself).

All in all, I am a big fan of the next edition of our armybook incorporating turrets as an engineer upgrade.

Regards,

Dourin
