Hey ya'll! I finally had some time to scan some more classic material from my WD collection.

First up here are the pages about Wayne England's Imperial Dwarf Army that were requested:

And here they are in action against a classic Empire Army:

Here is a link to a gallery that contains the Grimdall's Tomb battle Report that Dirken requested....the magazines first 4th edition bat rep.

http://s91.photobuck...imdalls%20Tomb/

Here are a couple of catalog pages from the back of the first stand alone dwarfs army book...I like these because they contain actual pictures of MM10s that were only seen as drawings before as well as shots of previously uncatalogued marauder minis like their 4 Norse dwarf sculpts...one of which is still eluding me....grrr,,,,

And Just because its COOL...here is my favorite WD cover of all time!

Thats all for now!

Cheers,

Blue

Great stuff. Even though his work looks dated now its still really inspiring. Does anyone know if the mantlet was/is GW ? Looking at those Marauder figures really makes me want the sword and pistol dwarf, can already picture those sleeves painted green and yellow.

Thanks Blue, its really great what you are doing, especially for guys like me who never saw this White Dwarf.
Ah, Wayne England, I love his Artwork on the First Box of Epic Space Marine where the one of the Space Marines looks exactly like Al Pacino in Scarface.

Whoa.....It is kinda nice to see where our current models' roots come from. Looks like the empire hasn't exactly changed much in all those years, though. :P

It's a pitty WD never followed up on Wayne's army, as you can see in the article it had 'points so far'.

I met him at the following year's Games Day.

He was sitting with all the other arty types but immediately stood out because he was the only one who brought stuff with him to paint.

I distinctly remember that on his desk he had quite a few of the marauder crossbows half done in a variety of colours. Even at this early stage they looked really good.

Thanks for sharing Blue.

"...WD 152/August 1992 (U.S. Edition) p51-67
WFB 3rd The Dwarf Realms: History and Culture
Includes "Other Dwarf Enclaves"
Black Mountains and the Grey Mountains
The Vaults
Norse Dwarfs
Chaos Dwarfs
Expatriate Dwarfs..."

Might be some value in tracking down a 3rd Ed WHFB rule book?

The majority of the content of WD152 also appears in the first edition army book if you have that. There are however a few more passages regarding different holds etc..

I'll try scanning it but am unsure of the quality and if you would be able to read it.

I'm not sure about 152... I'll dig around as well and see if I have it. You would think I would remember and article like that though...:)

I'll get back to you.

Very cool stuff. Pics of the old metal is alway good and when they're painted up it's even better. Really liked that 2nd article, the end stuff on norse, chaos and expatriate dwarfs is interesting.
