Kera is fan of Female-Slayer-Pirates and has a whole army of them..... I think she is planning on converting some AoW slayers into some of these wenches.

Hahaha, :lol2: no to both, not watching (at the moment) and not married. Happy to be 31 year-old single, live alone, ride my bike and play with 28mm orc and ratmen miniatures... and some dwarf-like ones! :dirol:

@Theatralic: Thanks very much. :) Skin took seven layers so far, five for the silvers...

Plz enlighten me, I had missed this part... 7 layers??? Ok, I'm an amateur! But share me wisdom... HOW do you do 7 layers? I mean, you'll use elf skin, then dwarf skin... then what? From what I can recall, there AREN'T 7 paints of flesh... :umnik2: Do you reuse some of them?

PS. To let you know of my amateur status in painting skin, when I put my heart in it, I prime the model, I base-coat with a 1st color, I drybrush with a 2nd color, I use detail with a 3rd color. And I finally use a wash (always use washes, they work marvels in painting realism)... So how do you do 5 layers of silver for the axes (let alone 7 for the skin...?)
Cheers! :drinks:

I was wondering if I should get these...now I'm more or less convinced that I need them ;)
Very nice paintjob on the skin & tatoos, I would add some shading/inking but it is a matter of personal taste. Also I'd paint the jewels on Bor, I know it is time consuming, but they really help to make nice impression.

There's plenty of ways to build up skin tones, some people will use leathery browns as a base, rather than any of the flesh colours. I've also been lking the use of cools and hots to add depth and realisim to skintones, which I'm going to try out soon.

My current skin recipe:
1 - Dark Flesh
2 - Devlan Mud Wash
3 - Dark Flesh + Dwarf Flesh
4 - Dwarf Flesh
5 - Dwarf Flesh + Elf Flesh
6 - Elf Flesh
7 - Gryphonne Sepia Wash
8 - Elf Flesh
9 - Elf Flesh + Skull White
10 - Skull White

10 layers, although you can make RnF look fine with just 2 or 3.

Wow...I've missed this thread until now. While I'm still not a fan of these minis....I am a fan of your painting style...very clean with wonderful shading...you've done the best with the figures at hand. The Bor on the other hand is both an excellent figure and VERY well painted...a wonderful combination! Excellent work! I too am now thinking that some of my slayers should have more natural hair colors.

Cheers,

Blue
