My tribute to ThaneWill, a rather new member who impresses with his humor and excitement!
In order to encourage his efforts to convert mantic dwarfs, I present this;

A WIP mantic dwarf standard bearer.

That's a nice bsb allright! The new trend with giving mantic dwarfs long beards is in my opinion a good thing. :) (now if they were just a lil smaller in scale so they could melt in among regular gw dwarfs..)

Are you going to let that lamp cast shadows and light all over the dwarf or is that effect a bit hard to create? Would be awesome if you managed to pull it off!

Indeed they do look far better with proper beards!

Now just for some bigger plate shoulders etc any they'll look much more the part :)

Thank you lad!
Actually I had these mantic dwarfs before you even joined the community youngbeard :big_boss:
But you did inspire me to "fix" the terrible monopossed models and for that I thank you :thank_you2:
BTW, here's a tutorial I made on how to sculpt a beard

Cheers :drinks:

Thanks for the tutorial, but i'm not gonna use it. I have my own style in beard sculpting and i think it looks wiers to have different style beards, of course my beards are in different form and sizez but all in the same style.
Love the BSB, again :drinks:

Hehe, i inpired the greatest sculptor around

I like him a lot! He's got a really sinister/cunning look (sort of like: you thinking what I'm thinking, guy who's about to get killed by me?) :P

Great job so far!

:hi:

Nice paintjob and the beard is a great improvement but still there not GW or scibor dwarfs. i do not know what it is with the mantic dwarfs but they do not give me personaly a dwarfie feeling, there is something missing.

your paintjob and convert makes it a good looking model, but i think when you put the model between a row of GW dwarfs, he is a bit small and lack detail.

keep up the good work , and have a ale on my tab, :guinesssmilie:

If more than anything it is the beard as the big issue with the Mantics dwarves i hear. But looking back in the line of minis in the heyday of GW, dem dwarves didn't have the long beards either. I agree the legs need to be fixed and there needs to be some variances on the beards. Yes longer would be nice, but just remember the origins of the beloved is all i am saying. :-)

Nice! I've got 40 mantic shieldbreakers (my hammerers) that need longer beards. :guinesssmilie:
