I really like those pillars, perfect for a unit filler!

that has come up really really well, i actually considered doing something similar as a unit filler but i could not find any cake shops that sold the decorative pillars!

In fact cros13 there 1/55 scale resin, all i've done is make a mold from instant mold and then made my own out of putty so i could break them up like in the photo.

ahhh i see! much much nicer than the standard flyers base they come on! Good job. And im shocked that you have strayed away from the customary 8 ball on joystick in favor for the most inferior 3 ball! ahhaha i kid, but it does look the goods! my entry is nearly done, and i think its going to be a tough month

Cros13 if you look i've already painted up another gyro with an 8 ball joystick., my hope is to one day have a mass of gyro's from 1-8 but can't see it happening anytime soon.

Another great paint job and the base is superb, it should do well in the comp.

I prefer the 3 to the 8 in many ways. It gives the pilot more character, like he's a bit grubby and will take what comes to hand for his gizmos
It looks great, forgot to mention that!

Ok so anyone who has been reading either this or my goblin thread will know the problems i've been having with which style of base to go for. So to try and put an end to it i've made up 3 different ones and hoping with your help to finally decide on a base style for both groups. I'll re-post on the other thread just in case someone only reads the one and not the other
So the 3 types are: 1. earth/grass tuffs 2. rock/snow 3. lost hold/rubble/tuffs

So which one works best for both goblin and dwarf ?

OK it seemed Lost Hold was the way to go, so i've started the long process of re-doing my bases. The plan will be to keep the 20mm bases quite simple just the stone floors with rubble and maybe some small tuffs of grass and leave all the fun stuff like pillars to the bigger items such as the gyro and cannons.
So heres the first 3 of many... some minor damage was done when pinning but nothing to worry about.

I really like the bases. It'll be a long job re-basing them all but I'm sure it will be worth it. Are you happy with the bases?

Dazza: your army is fabulous
Grugni will bless your beard for the pleasure it procures our eyes
I wanted to ask where come from the third dwarf with a hammer in both hands and the Dwarf Thief (second picture): I have them, but have not been able to catalog
