It's probably better to replace the blog link with http://www.bugmansbr...ulans-progress/
Since when I post more updates on the blog they'll be at different links, so the thread is simpler
EDIT: Also, an idea, I think we should add a link to the clock in this thread too. http://www.7is7.com/...ing Contest End

Thanks Equlan! Those things have been added.
The reason I only had your blog up there is because I couldnt find your thread for some reason. Thanks!

If you guys would allow, I submit my army, but it is being painted by my brother, not me (it was started last week, most infantry are basically done, excepting basing and Matte finish):

That's fair, since I only thought of making a thread instead when I saw this topic, so it wasn't there until a minute or so before I suggested it

Well Wargamer, I have to refuse your entry based on your words. You say most of its done, and the point of this contest to to have a huge horde of unfinished models.
So I have to refuse, unless I have mistaken your post.

Yeah, true. But it started just last week. Just noting on it's speed, might give ideas or inspire others to paint.

Dude, you dip. I could paint a 20 ft. tall A.Wagg sculpture, and paint it in a day if I had enough dipping sauce.

I dunno... if your using Citadel paints and a number 1 brush that 20 foot statue might take a whileDude, you dip. I could paint a 20 ft. tall A.Wagg sculpture, and paint it in a day if I had enough dipping sauce.
Would you prime it with Chaos Black spray cans? or just go all out and use a compressor/spray gun loaded with 1 or 2 thousand 12ml pots?

So what if someone uses dips? It is fast and effective, two things a wargamer looks for. It is a great method to run through an army.Dude, you dip. I could paint a 20 ft. tall A.Wagg sculpture, and paint it in a day if I had enough dipping sauce.
Don't go all elitist because I prefer one method of painting over the other "traditional" slow as snails one.

Ahh, dont let him get to you Wargamer, he's just jealous of how awesome your anvil looks.
Nothing is wrong with dipping, it makes everything look great, and I have been thinking about doing it myself, but I own so many washes, I just dont want to spend the money.
A.Wagg, have another beer.

+1I have been thinking about doing it myself, but I own so many washes, I just dont want to spend the money.
I was thinking about trying it too.. but here in Australia a pot of army painter drip runs at $40 and the sprays are $25 a pop...
I decided I'd rather spend the money on more miniatures since I have so many citadel paints as it is
Either way, I don't see why wargamer cant be on the slacker list... i mean his brother is painting his army... how slack can a guy get?!?!?! hehe

I just don't like it when dippers brag about "speed". You army does look very nice though, one of the best dipped ones I've seen.

It is dipping's redeeming quality, why not? That is like saying people shouldn't brag about speed/ease when using spray primer. Also, most people who don't dip throw devlan mud or other washes over everything when they're finished, which isn't far off from dipping, both use tints to shade. But thanks for the complement.I just don't like it when dippers brag about "speed". You army does look very nice though, one of the best dipped ones I've seen.
We're getting off-topic so I'll stop now.

Yeah, so when I'm talking about priming my models, I'll keep in mind to say that I'm doing it the lame, fast way. But when I talk about painting, I'll say I'm a traditionalist and do it the slow way. Bueno?
And yeah, kinda off topic, sorry!

Haha that gave me a chortle too.Hehehe, Dipping sauce.
Okay I'm going to bite the bullet. I'm a shocking slow poke when it comes to painting my army.
I notice that TKR set a 25+ model minimum for this so here goes:
I'm going to paint up 20+ old marauder thunderers, 10 awesome old preslotta halflings which are going to be a ranger unit in my army, an organ gun with 3 crew, and 5 grenadier/citadel Hammerers.
Kind of gives me a scare to think I am committing myself to this because I am sooo slow at painting normally. I might be in for a few late nights.
I will post a link to my slacker thread once I take some before pics and start one.

Ok I'm all set to go!
Little bit nervous as I will have to paint way faster than I'm used to, but I guess that's the point isn't it?
Here's my slacker thread:
