Sounds to me like you boys need a freelance writer. An article is concise as well as articulate and can be simply stickied and locked. A frozen testament of tactics.

I have full time classes now but if I get a simple list of points to cover or links to where the best tactica information is, I will write free articles worth 30 cents a word and sign it as "The Forum," because that's where it comes from.

Different opinions could easily be represented in the article format. It would truly be a conglomeration of all our ideas. But as I have full classes, work, my Boy Scouts, and social obligations in full tilt I won't be able to do the research ... could have done it the past three weeks no problem. Bad timing. :umnik2:

Reasonable time should be given to Javidson.
We are no unpatient umgi, so we can wait a little, or? :drinks:

Javidson took hand in, so we should wait what he says. Should he stay quiet, than we should agree what to do after.

No solid dawi will steal someones work, so we should wait and see what comes out. I would say that waiting for a week should be Ok. :buba:

My I suggest 2 new sections to be developed for this awesome project?
  • Storm of Magic
  • Siege (by Blood in the Badlands campaign)
(wonder why my pic isn't showing)

Oh yes, a storm of magic section could be very helpful. I have not used those rules yet, and I assume many others have very limited experience with it as well.

Feel free to do whatever you (targ) think including starting a new thread. I was just stating my views when I started the project and I thought my system had worked up til when I stopped.

(also if you message me it could be a month before I read it so don't expect instant answers. I rarely use the email this account is attached too)

Javidson: Nor you, nor your guide will be forgotten. It was and is a huge help to anyone building their armies or willing to think/discuss his tactical views etc.

Here is the simple plan to build something that will use the knowledge/link from your Handbook and will add on new stuff as it is added. Basic reason for it is to be able to continue with some reasonable flexibility, which is needed in such a project and is not possible in the original one, because of your rare availability.

So thank you for the leave. I feel much better now. :drinks:

Forgive the Threadomancy here, but has the Handbook stalled indefinitely? My gaming group only consists of WoC, Beastmen and High Elves. I'm at a significant disadvantage when I head into tourneys, as I have no experience with other armies. Tactica on even the basic capabilities of those armies would be most helpful.

Anti high elf tactica is here:

I don't have enough knowledge / experience to write a beastmen or woc tactica. Maybe Alaric could help you out? He's a big woc guy.

Thanks for the link Grim; I added it to the first post. I also put in a link to the spellbreaking guide list, but no one has written any 8th edition lore guides. Maybe I'll write one right now.

Is the High Elf tactics out of date now?

i think so, i think that we will see a lot more flaming phoenixes smashing into the flanks of units engaged by spearmen... i don't think swordmasters and teclis will be common they have some excellent new spellcasters.... i'd say a major facelift to make Helf armies almost unrecognisable

I think we'll be more likely to see multiple Frostheart Phoenixes, since the -1 Str stacks and essentially nerfs our GW advantage.  The flaming phoenixes shouldn't be much concern to our T4 rank & file though.  Even the World Dragon banner isn't a big concern for us.

I'd be more concerned with their newly tricked out magic, personally.  The Book of Hoeth and the character that gets every signature spell could be problematic.  Also, they can now run almost Wood Elf-like lists with either a flying circus or straight cav.  Thinking that castling up becomes even more imperative nowadays.
