Well, since I'm having some figures sculpted by John Pickford, I suppose I could make some conversions of those that don't violate anyone's IP (since these versions make use of GW bits. Will be a while off though.

They are rather good value, I think, at £5 for 5.

You may want to contact Black Scorpion minitures White Knight, they do Pirate Dwarfs and are bringing out new pirate Dwarfs soon. I think its a 1 man company so you may be able to collaborate with him and merge yours into his, enhancing the range
Saves you having to design website and hope for customers as he's already established and fairly well known.
Hasslefree would probably sell them too so there are options if you're a bit daunted by the whole process.
I really do think you should put your skills into making some figs as you not only have talent, you also have imagination which a lot of sculpters lack.

Probably due to the bad pictures I took of them then.

Both are fine companies though both are sculpting in a style that is rather different than the old marauder style I'm aiming for. This being said, I get along fine with Kev (Hasslefree) so never say never.
The thing is, I don't want to found a real business, with webshop and advertising and all that. Just want to have some figures made for my collection and if selling some of them to the rest of you can help to fund more of them, then we're all winning, but it's not the main goal. We'll see.

This one is intended to be a knightly hero type in classic Empire style. He actually looks quite good in real life, but doesn't photograph very well. Using bits from the 6th edition plastic dwarves and the empire knightly order sprue.

His shield is a foundry metal shield (slightly smaller than the plastic GW ones) with some added detail (griffon head, ribbon):

And finally, his ride (unconverted marauder miniatures griffon). I've had this for years but didn't know what rider to put on it (the original had a chaos warrior in a kneeling pose). Then recently it occurred to me there was enough room for the stumpy legs of a dwarf. And given the relationship between dwarf and griffon, it's even fluffy.

I think Khazadson may take a liking to the Griffon rider, fits in with his fluff
Not sure I like the feather on his head though.....

The Griffon is this one: http://www.solegends...schampgriff.htm
The feather comes from a plastic empire knight and was in my bits box so I used it. It does look a bit insufficient perhaps. oh well, I'm not going to change it at this point.
I am the proud owner of the dwarf on pony, but while it inspired me a little, I didn't look at it much during this conversion.

Something a bit more grander would be good for the rider than just the single feather, maybe a 3 feather plume? He looks a bit too RnF to be a Griffon rider I think. Cant adorn him in too much armour and metal as it wouldnt allow him the freedom he'd need riding that beast. On top of the head is about the only place you could add something fancy without compromising the rest of the model.
I wonder how many people own the Dwarf on Ponys? There must be quite a few knocking around, not including recasts that is. Last one went for $300 on Ebay

I think I should have something suitable in the bits box, like a griffon head or something. Will see.

Was that last week? I saw that one. I'm happy to say I didn't pay that much for it (by far).

Yeah that was the last one to sell on US Ebay but I think Unreleased stuff usually sells higher on the US version. I got mine for £75 which I thought was a bargain but I've heard of people paying much less. Its all down to who you know

Maximillian armor, a base for empire knights, features metal boots similar in form to those you've made for your hero.

Another option is pointy metal boots, but I haven't seen this style on empire knights.

Good point and I was unsure about that too. Well, as I said, I planned to redo them anyway, so might as well change them. I don't want to go with the metal footwear, as I've deliberately left his legs mostly unarmoured (it's hard enough to hold his grip on the griffon and try to steer it with those short legs as it is). But maybe proper leather boots then.
