The Hold of Karaz Bin Varr "Enduring on the Sea"
Location- The small island north of the Great Mortis river, which the dwafs have claimed and named Mortis. The hold is located inside the unactive volcano that has created the island. Do to the years of volcanic eruption that created the island many rich mineral deposits were formed, also these eruptions caused the island to be split by small streams full of fish and surrounded by vegitation and wild game. Therefore the dwarfs of Karaz Bin Varr are wealthy miners, traders(by boat, one of the few holds to own its own navy but it has to for transportation to the mainland) and fisherman, although fishing is a rather uncommon trait among dwarfs.
The founding of Karaz Bin Varr-Karaz Bin Varr was founded in the dwarf year of -1499 by the clans of Gorlob Grimgazer (the great-grandfather of Gorgon Grimgazer current king of Karaz Bin Varr) and Trogdor Twohammers who discovered the future island of Mortis while running from the orcs who had sacked their home of Ekrund in the year -1498.
In the rest of -1498 and well into the year -1497 the dwarfs waste little time in fortifieing there new volcanic hold, and also adding a small wooden baracade around the whole island(what else is wood good for!), The dwarfs soon began the excavating and mining of the rare deposits of ore under the volcano and setting up workshops to smith weapons,armour and other goods for trade. In this time the dwarfs enjoy peace and prosperity as there iron clad ships leave full of goods for trade to the penninsula of Tilea and return filled to the holds with gold and silver.
There peace is short lived though, for the forces of orcs who chased them from Ekrund and to the shores of the sea would not lose there prey so easily. It is early in the year of -1496 when one of the trade ships come steaming into the harbour with reports of an orc fleet fast on her heels. The dwarfs are blood hungry and vengeful for the deaths of there kin at the battles of Ekrund, before the orc sails are even seen on the horizion the dwarfs are in organized formation behind their small barricades on the shores, they have all orders from Grimgazer and Twohammers to not let the orcs past the shoreline where the dwarfen new artillery is stationed.
The Battle of Mortis- It is just after the brake of dawn when the unmoving dwarfs who had stood in complete disicpline through the night, see the first signs of the crude orcish warships. The orc are moving at and incediable spped for the crudley built warships and are soon in range of the dwarfen artillery, soon a wave of cannons balls, bolts, and stones marked with the grudges of Ekrund are flying through the air and into the ranks of the helpless warships. It is in this and the next 3 waves of dwarven fire that the orcs take heavy casualities as many ships sink torn to pieces by the drwafen artillery. By the time the orcs reach shore half there forces are floating around in a sea of blood red water. Though heavily depleted the orcs surge onto the beaches and quicky tear down the wooden barricade, and run into a unmoving wall of battle hardened dwarfs led by Gorgon and Trogdor... To be continued

Hmmm. I like the start of this. Sort of reminds me of Jules Vern's Captain Nemo valcano island. A good place for a Hold for stout hearted Dawi. But where are the Sharks? You need to add sharks tearing into all those wounded orcs as they try to get ashore from their sinking hulks. Looking forward for more from you on this new hold. Have a beer on my tab.
