An unreleased plastic? Why would they go to the trouble of making it and then not release it? And how did this guy get it? Inquiring beards want to know.

Get your wallet out mate, that'll go for a fair bit !!! As it goes for so much money not many people ever remove the parts from the sprue so I've never seen a pic of it made sad.gif

People get these pieces by working or knowing someone that works in the GW studios. I got the metal versions of the BfSP stuff last year from someone who knew someone etc wink.gif

There was one on Ebay around a 1-2 years ago I didn't win but actually no one did as it didn't meet the sellers reserve.

I have money in the bank, so let the war begin.

will you be making the figure or keeping it on sprue? Or does it depend on how much it goes for?

With the newer unreleased stuff GW have a tendency to have the auctions removed so if it disapears contact the seller quickly and offer him a price wink.gif

My intent is to make 2 Lords and use the left over bitz and the warrior/quarellers boxes to make various Thanes and Runesmiths.

Presently I am willing to spend USD 100 for the sprue but it depends, I might go higher but probably chicken out but if the price goes to high (USD 150).

Meh...I think by the time you pay for it it would have been cheaper to buy Alrik and the metal figures look better.....I dont think the sprue is all that good but thats a personal opinion....if you are happy go for it!

I reckon it'll sell for between $100-200 USD but I havent really paid much attention to what the plastics go for, even this unreleased one, plastic is plastic as far as I'm concerned smile.gif Hope you get it for a cheap price Brynwar as I want to see a pic of it assembled.

I think there is an illustration on one of the Dwarf boxes Taggra but no idea which one. I've never known anyone to take the parts off the sprue when they have bought it sad.gif

Thats the problem with the newer unreleased stuff Lord Azaghul, GW are very strict on people selling them on Ebay so most of the stuff gets sold via forums. The older unreleased items they dont care too much about, not sure why, maybe as they cant trace the origins back to someone or it was before the owners bought GW so they have no rights on the pieces. If someone puts lots of unreleased items on Ebay they are usually pulled whether old or new but if you list them one week at a time you can usually get away with it.

Metal is metal...
I'll drink to that Perv.
It is also a kind of ironic to buy an unreleased piece that in order to keep its value
you'll never ever assemble...
I keep my quid for the metal ones...
Got the janissary and am very pleased I did...
This one has no character IMHO.
Even the 5th ed. LBs have more character.

Anyway good luck Brynwar...

Have one on me...

I think If I ever had it I couldn't bear to actually clip anything off the sprue, its probably more valuable that way! - now it if was available to all of us at our local stores - well another story altogether...

If I bought it, I'd certainly build it.

But, no way am I bidding on that. I'm going to continue looking for a reasonably priced White Dwarf 30th anneversery edition. Maybe one will slip through the cracks smile.gif

lol I guess us metal lovers have more of a magnetic field than plastic collectors, we cant help but get drawn to them. I wouldnt be able to chop up that sprue if I got it so to me it only has a money value as no pleasure can be gained from looking at a sprue. Its bad enough paying the prices for the unreleased metal ones but at least you can get pleasure from looking at and painting them and they wont devalue. Definately keep your money for the metal ones mate wink.gif The flasher is a great fig and you should get that on Ebay for no more than £30, about same as the Janissary.

No idea if this has any character as never seen it assembled. If I did get my hands on an assembled one I'd have to put a heavy magnet in the base just to make it feel more like metal smile.gif

fletcherh the price of the 30th anniversary one must come down at some point. So many people bought them to resell on for more money that almost every collector will have one by now. Slowly slowly catchy Dwarfy smile.gif

If you have a look on the dwarf miners box (the new plastic sprews), there is a small assembly picture at the back with a basic lord put together without any arms (from memory).
To be honest it does look pretty ordinary, but the fact that it is another sprew for dwarfs makes me heart tingle!! Plus there is an arm with a quill, beat that...

If I was bidding and won (imagining), i think i wouldn't be able to handle keeping it as a set sprew..
GW models are a hobby which I love to build and paint, not nessarily have as a set sprew to keep/increase its dollar amount.

I was talking to my LGS owner the other night about this and we came to this conclusion.

This kit was likely made at the same time the other multi-part plastic characters were made such as the high elf, human wizard, empire count, etc... Anyway also released at this time was the metal BSB and Dwarf on Oathstone kit. So this metal box took the place of our plastic and when you look at the sprue pics of this plastic sprue above and compare it to the others released at the time this would have supposedly come out I can see why they didn't release it. The quality is terrible; and the models look like pooh... I really wish they'd have made us a kit like this; but the models on this sprue look like garbage so I'm happy at the same time that they didn't.

My 2 cents.

Look at it on the CCM Wiki and you can see it a lot better, it is pretty bad !!! Never paid it much attention before and now I'm glad....

http://www.collectin..._Lord_Sprue.jpg

The arms look like they belong to an elf, they're too skinny. The only bit I like is that shield with the pattern on it but it has hands attached which screws it up. It looks cheap like the BfSP stuff IMHO. I can see why no one assembles it, they get the sprue, realise how bad it is and sell it on smile.gif You may want to think again Brynwar, I'm sure for the same money you could have someone professionally convert you a Lord from existing figs and greenstuff and it'd look a lot better. Pay someone to convert one to look like the Brian Nelson fig and you'll be far happier I bet wink.gif

On closer inspection i stick by my original response......not for me...I could do a better job converting i think....each to their own.....

I think it is a matter of eyes...
Plastic models don't have eyes with character and dwarfs with their beards
need character in their eyes. They need to show feelings through them...
So a plastic lord is always on the bad side when it comes to expression...
What do you think?
