Overview:
The below is a simple guide in order to help you post pictures both from Bugmans gallery and from outside the brewery itself.

Version:
V2.0 - Current version
V1.0 - Original version, now no longer working

The Guide
Here is a simple guide on how to post a picture. This can be from outside the brewery or from the gallery itself.

You can create as many albums as you like, unfortuantley at present, sub albums (thats albums inside an album) are not possible. Drat!

Anyway, here is how you do it from outside

[/code]

See:

Now to do it from Bugmans Brewery gallery, its just as simple, if not more!
1. Start your post
2. Type what you want to type and when ready, press this button

This is because at present, your using the Rich Text Editor solution which allows you to see different colors and text sizes etc. For the gallery tool to work, you need to press that button once. Don't worry, you wont loose anything!

3. You can now press this button:
Attached File  gallery.JPG (6.46K)
Number of downloads: 39
4. Scroll to the image you want to use and click on it. You can always upload a picture too!
5. It will insert it into the post!
5. You will need to switch back to the Rich Text Editor to see it working fully. Just press that button again that you pressed back in step 2. Dont worry about the size of the picture, it will get resized when you post.
6. If you see something like this:

CODE
[img]http://www.bugmansbrewery.com/forum/gallerypics/1178899826/gallery_3_7510.jpg[/img]
[b]bugmansbrewerybanner.jpg[/b]

Then you have not switched out the rich text editor. Do step 2 again and then continue.

See:

Please remember the following:
1.
Images are resized when included into the forum, but try not to post a large (file size) image, it will get deleted by the mods. Constant abuse of this will occur a permanent ban.

Please
note, dynamic image security is set to its highest so image URLs which
contain javascipt, ? or = etc will not be allowed on here

Any questions please do ask

Bugman

Kev,

Try not swapping between the editors and start with a fresh post. Does that work?

There's an OK image showing up alright. No idea why it's called "spinning" though. ohmy.gif

Rookie Question... I don't know if this is the proper section to post this, but:

How do you delete an image once you've uploaded it to your gallery? I posted a test pic to see how it worked, but now I cannot get rid of it. I've only been able to delete the entire album, not the image. Please advise.

I'm trying to follow the direction you've written above, but keep running into an issue. Whenever I hit the "switch between standard and rich text" button, nothing happens. It just sits there and tells mean that its loading. I've waited upto 30 minutes but still nothing.

Its got to be me, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

BTW..when I read the above instructions, the picture for the button I need to hit comes through as a white box with a red X through it.

Have you checked your security settings on your browser? It's possible the applet that allows rich text is either Java or Active-X based and could be blocked. Just a thought anyway.

Cheers, Gary

Is there any way to shrink the photo sizes in the gallery to allow more photos with the memory allocated.

You need to resize them before you upload them, there are many free packages on the net which will do this for you. Irfanview is my favourite although clunky.

Can this post be redone explaining the 3 ways of posting pictures please? Not sure if there is already info somewhere telling how? Maybe it can be just copied and pasted, if not I can type one up over the next week or so.
