History: Formed in 2515 by some of the survivors of the Dwarf-Skaven encounter at Fester Spike (see below), it is similar to a cult of religious zealots, with their only dogma to kill all enemies of the Dwarfs. They wear white so that they can be easily seen by enemies, thus allowing them to battle more often. If they recieve word of any and all Goblin/Skaven/Orc/Chaos Spawn etc within a few days march they head out for battle. This throng is unique in that they operate out of an established stronghold rather than having their own. The Throng is fully backed by King Kazran Grimbrow (brother to Kazron) and his wife Queen Astrid the Wise of the Izorgrung, who rule Karak Izor, since the presence of the Throng allows them to concentrate on expanding the stronghold - notably the construction of a new Underway around their hold - and keeping the local human settlements aware of who controls the surrounding lands, without needing to stop the holds' day-to-day running for minor skirmishes. Should a stronger force be needed for a larger battle or campaign, however, they will mobilise their own sizable force to assist without haste.

Timeline:

2515 - Dwarfs from Karak Izor attack the Skaven Borrow of Fester Spike seeking to reclaim one of the lost hammers of Valaya. The Grey Seer in command of the defenses tries to summon a Greater Deamon of the Horned Rat in desparation. In typical Skaven fashion, the summon miscasts, and a Blood Thirstier is summoned instead. The enraged deamon assaults Dwarf and Skaven alike, and in the ensuing confusion many are slain from both sides.

2515 - On returning from the fiasco, Lord Kazron Grimbrow takes a vow to not rest until all the enemies of the Dwarfs are slain. Enough join him to make a viable force and the Throng of Grimnar is born. It has the backing of Kazron's brother King Kazran Grimbrow which gives the Throng a secure base and good financial backing.

2516 - Dark Elves complete a plot which sees a dwarf army march from Karak Norn on the Wood Elves of Athel Loren. The Throng of Grimnar track down some trolls in the Black Mountains and discover Dark Elves have been in the area heading for Karak Varn. The Throng march on and catch up with the Elves at Black Fire Pass. The ensuing battle is almost lost for the dwarfs but luck prevails in the form of a passing Skaven Clan and their Screaming Bell, which they attempt to use - and fail - killing most of their force and also wiping out many Dark Elves. The dwarfs find evidence of the plot and send word to Karak Norn, unfortunately not before over 600 lives have been lost between the the Dwarfs and Wood Elves.

2519 - Following word of The Battle of a Hundred Cannons, Lord Grimbrow marches the Throng of Grimnar to Zhufbar and joins the combined forces of Zhufbar, Karak Kadrin and Karaz-a-Karak in destroying the Orc horde.

2520 - On returning from the battle with the Orc army, the Throng came upon a residual force of Goblins, left over from The Battle of a Hundred Cannons, at the former site of Bugmans Brewery battling with a very small band of dwarfs. The Throng assists and the Goblins are destroyed. It is discovered that the band of dwarfs include the great Josef Bugman himself, who thanks the Throng for their assistance is destroying the Goblins quicker than he could have on his own, and gives their ideology his personal approval!

2523 - The Storm of Chaos Erupts. The dwarfs of Karak Izor shore up their defences, but the Throng of Grimnar continue to launch expeditions to clear the surrounding region of evil creatures, it is harder for them now as all the evil in the world seems to have multiplied and they lose many fine warriors with every encounter.
