The Beginning Of A Hunt.

Stonehammers have long been on the hunt for grudges which they can strike from the Dammaz Kromm. Sometimes this includes just settling a trade agreement made into a misunderstanding. Some include hunting down a person/creature/monster/thing-or-something. And in other cases it is just the simple thing of killing a part of a race in a localized genocide.
Their unending hunt started 100 years ago (current date 2516 Empire calendar). In one of the valleys of the Grey Mountains. During one foggy morning, Thane Narin Stonehammer was, along with a cadre of rangers, on his way to revenge a Grudge.
You see Narin loved nothing more than the felling of satisfaction, of a grudge striked form the Dammaz Kromm. And good for him there was of course more than dozen lifetimes of grudges to avenge. But this time things were different.
The usual grudges which Narin use to handle included killing large portions of greenskins, rat-kin and the off-hand elves from Athel Loren. This grudge however was penned by an enginner, who during a trip to manling city of Nuln was allowed to see a stream tank. The engineer immediately saw the fault of the too powerful steam engine and made to fix it.
This however made the master engineer in charge of the steam tank highly upset. He claimed that the steam engine was "superior in ways" and then said "I will not have you fumbling around with it!!” This was a grave injustice to the engineer who only tried to help. And so the manling master engineer got a grudge that said the he apologies to the Dwarf engineer and admit that the Steam engine is too powerful for its own good.
And so Narin found himself looking for the master engineer who was last seen, with the Steam tank on his way to Altdorf.
The Dwarfs were able to intercept the master engineer who also had an escort of greatswords and knights on the road to Altdorf. Narin explained the grudge to the engineer and said that it could be solved cleanly by giving the Dwarf engineer a letter which included an apology and a confession that he was right.
The master engineer found this more than fair deal, outrageous!!! Saying that he would rather died by making the steam tank explode than admit there was anything wrong with the steam engine.
And so Narin was forced to use lethal force to make the engineer shallow his pride. But even then Narin couldn´t make him confess the fault of the steam tank. Because before the Dwarf and men where to clash on the field of battle. The engineer and steam tank where blown to kingdom by an explosion, caused by no doubt the steam engine.
Needless to say this made Narin even angrier!!! The engineer had killed himself and making a but impossible to solve the grudge and now he would end up with a dozen new grudges because of it.
And so he in a fit of rage decaled grudge against all grudge. This a very serious grudge to decade but once said it could not undo and it got the personal sanction of the High king Thorgirm.
And so the Stonehammers have become a clan of rangers bound to hunt down grudges and see them striked from the Dammaz Kromm.
